Meet Jalisa Ann of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalisa Ann.

Hi Jalisa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My path started in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, where I grew up immersed in Caribbean culture — the creative seed was planted early through performance, design, costumes, and simply the beauty of the natural world around me.

I went on to study Merchandise Product Development at FIDM, then cut my teeth in luxury retail and as a design and production assistant in Beverly Hills, before turning that foundation into building something of my own.

Today I run Good Fruite, my luxury custom crochet and wearable art line, and Opulent Standard, a short-term rental turnover cleaning company. Alongside that, I work as a brand ambassador and event host across Central Florida, representing beauty and spirits brands at activations. Pineapple Goddezzz ties it all together as my personal brand — content, modeling, hosting, and the face behind everything I build.

Getting here wasn’t one straight line — it was design training, creative instinct, and hands-on hustle all converging into a multi-business model I built from the ground up.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, no — building multiple businesses from the ground up rarely is. One of the biggest challenges has been balance: running a cleaning company, a wearable art line, and a personal brand all at once means constantly switching hats between operations, creative work, and client relationships, often in the same day.

Building trust as a new business owner was another hurdle — proving reliability to short-term rental hosts who need consistency they can count on, and to clients who are investing in custom, made-to-order pieces and want to know the quality will be there every time. There’s no shortcut for that; it’s built one job, one client, one five-star review at a time.

And there’s the reality every entrepreneur faces — wearing every hat in the early stages, from finances to marketing to the actual hands-on work, before you can bring in support. It’s taught me resilience and forced me to get resourceful fast.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run a few different lanes of work that all connect back to the same core: showing up with excellence, whatever the room. Through Opulent Standard, I manage short-term rental turnover cleaning — coordinating a team of contractors to make sure every property is guest-ready, on time, every time. Through Good Fruite, I design and hand-make luxury custom crochet and wearable art, working appointment-only with clients who want something truly one-of-a-kind. And as a brand ambassador and event host, I represent beauty and spirits brands at activations across Central Florida, bringing energy and professionalism to every event.

What I specialize in is consistency and craft — whether that’s a flawless turnover a host can count on, a hand-crochet piece built to someone’s exact vision, or a brand activation that leaves a lasting impression. I’m most proud of having built all of this myself, from the ground up, without following a single lane. It’s taught me how to move between very different worlds — operations, artistry, and personal brand — and excel in each one.

What sets me apart is that range. I’m not just a service provider or just a creative — I’m both, and I bring the same standard of excellence to a rental cleaning job as I do to a custom garment or a brand event. That versatility, paired with the discipline I built in my earlier career, is what makes my work stand out.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories is simply growing up surrounded by the beauty of St. Thomas. I remember picking fresh fruit right off the trees in our backyard, and spending time in those crystal-clear waters — swimming and playing along the shoreline with my cousins. It felt like paradise in the most ordinary, everyday way.

My sister and I also attended Montessori school on St. Thomas, and that experience shaped me in ways I still carry with me. I loved my teachers, our campus, and all the incredible programs they offered — everything about it was built around nurturing creativity, independence, and a love of learning. It was such a special environment to grow up in, and I still miss it.
