Today we’d like to introduce you to Amberism.
Hi Amberism, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up with a love for music, singing in school and discovering early on that music was more than just a passion…it was a calling. At 13 years old, I began writing songs, using my experiences and emotions as young girl to create stories through lyrics and melodies. After graduating college, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia to fully pursue my music career. Being surrounded by such a creative and influential music scene gave me opportunities to work with so many talented industry professionals and continue growing as a songwriter and artist. Along the way, I’ve had the honor of writing for other artists, helping bring their stories and visions to life. Today, I’m stepping even more into my own artistry. I’m currently working on my personal project and I am excited to share new music that reflects my journey, growth, and sound.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has been long and definitely one filled with bumps, twists and turns. Over the years I’ve run into so many smoking mirrors and empty promises. I work really hard and having my daughter in 2014 really lit a fire in me. Juggling motherhood while pursing my dreams has been one of my biggest struggles. On one hand I want to show my daughter that giving up on yourself is never an option. On the other hand, it’s easy for me to pour everything I have into her dreams even if it means sacrificing mine. Over the years I have found more of a balance but it is definitely still a challenge today. I’ve been told ‘No”, I’ve been told “Yes” then later “No” and I’ve been told “Yes” but either way I keep going.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a singer songwriter creative. Music has always been a part of who I am. I started out singing in school, and by the time I was 13, I was already writing songs and finding my own way to express what I felt through music. Now, I use my voice, songwriting, and creativity to tell real stories, both through my own music and songs I create for other artists. What I’m most proud of is my growth, starting as a young songwriter at 13 and continuing to build my career through every opportunity, collaboration, and lesson along the way. I’m proud to have worked with industry professionals, written for other artists, and now be stepping fully into my own project and artistry. What sets me apart is my ability to combine real-life experiences with versatile songwriting. I create from a genuine place, whether I’m writing something vulnerable, empowering, soulful, or fun. I don’t just write songs, I focus on creating music people can feel, relate to, and remember.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
One of my favorite childhood memories was waking up Christmas Day and unwrapping a present only to find an envelope with concert tickets in it to go see the Backstreet Boys. I was a huge fan and they were the first concert I ever went to. I remember being in the crowd and being in awe of the screaming fans, the lights and the production of it all and thinking to myself one that will be me and I’ll be on a stage just like that.
