Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelice Velazquez.
Hi Angelice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my small business purely through the encouragement of my friends and family. I have always been a creative person and I loved crafting. I was the one my friends and coworkers would turn to for gift ideas or creating something. I decided to buy myself a Cricut machine back in 2018. At first, I was ready to return it because it was not as easy as I thought! However, I practiced and practiced. I started creating personalized items-shirts, cups, etc. Then my friends encouraged me to make an Instagram. From that moment on- my business and my creativity flourished. I started experimenting with new crafting items.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh, no. It definitely has NOT been a smooth road. I work full-time and not having all the time I’d like to dedicate to my business hindered my motivation for a while. To the point, I “stopped” for about a year. Then during the start of March 2020 (once again with my friend’s encouragement-shoutout to Thay) I started back up and never looked back. Regardless of the pandemic, people have supported my business even more. I turned the walk-in closet of my second bedroom into my crafting office and it has become my happy place.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in personalized items. Custom cups, shirts, stickers, door hangers, lazy suzans, etc. I’m the most proud of my continuous progression of my work. I have been able to expand the amount of items I create now.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
The crafting community has become a huge support for me. On social media, they continuously share my page and posts. Social media has played a huge factor in my success.
