Today we’d like to introduce you to Jesse Ernst.
Hi Jesse, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey to becoming a financial coach started several years ago, right after my wife, Claire, and I got married. My oldest brother sent us Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University course to go through for our personal finances and we jumped right in. Over the years, friends and family would ask what we were doing or how we were doing certain things financially and this provided the initial opportunities to share our own journey and story with anyone who was interested. We both cash-flowed our college educations, have paid in full for every vehicle we have ever bought and the only debt we ever took on has been for our mortgage, which we are also paying extra on to be 100% debt-free ASAP.
As I listened to the Ramsey radio show, Dave mentioned one day that “if you are answering the caller’s questions before or the same way I do, you might consider becoming a financial coach” so I looked into it. It is a passion of mine to see people win with money, reduce stress, and build the life and future they truly want to have and can be proud of. In August of 2020, I fully launched Ernst Financial Solutions, LLC to work with people who are ready to ditch the ordinary/normal financial life that “everybody” does and set out on a journey toward financial freedom! As of April 2021, my clients have collectively paid off over $250k in debt just in 2021! My goal for this year is to get that number over $1 million in debts paid off by the end of 2021. We focus on setting goals and dreams, building the plan needed to accomplish those dreams, dump debt, build wealth and live the life we only dreamed of before.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been ups and downs for sure. I didn’t sign my first clients until two months in and the first couple months, it was a slow process with a lot of learning and re-learning.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?Ernst Financial Solutions specializes in working with individuals, couples and small businesses in creating a plan for their money that will set them on the path to accomplish their goals. Once we identify what is truly important, we prioritize those goals and dreams, then build a financial plan around those priorities to ensure we are headed in the right direction.
We are in a large part know for helping people create a working plan with their money (budgeting), reducing debt, and realizing that wealth building is within reach. Through the coaching process, we are not just talking dollars and cents, spreadsheets and numbers, but we work through the habits and behaviors we all have with or towards money and shape good, lasting, constructive habits, behaviors and actions that will make sure you not only win with money through our time of coaching but that you will carry those habits throughout the rest of your life.
What sets us apart is that we are NOT financial advisors who help with investing their client’s money into the market, we don’t sell insurances or broker deals. What we do instead is get down in the dirt, on the ground level of the everyday flow of money and create a clear plan for where every dollar that comes in will go each month. Once our clients are ready to invest, purchase insurances, etc. we refer them to other professionals that we know and trust so they have a team of advisors who all specialize in their specific areas to ensure their financial future is both secure and will lead them to where they want to go. Some of my proudest moments are when I get to see the light come on for my clients when they realize they can win with money and have the potential to create a lasting legacy for their families.
