Today we’d like to introduce you to Alissa Riedel.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started in December 2019 when my best friend was eight months pregnant with her little boy. She wanted maternity photos but couldn’t find any available photographers in our area, so she asked me! I got my iPhone out and snapped a few pics, then edited them on Lightroom and she LOVED them. She posted her photos and had multiple people messaging her, asking who took her photos and if I was available to do theirs. My best friend showed me all the messages and encouraged me to start a Facebook/Instagram page for some of the pictures I’ve taken. I started taking pictures of my friends and posting them and it wasn’t long after that that I started getting real bookings! Since then, I’ve done multiple weddings and more sessions than I can count! Very blessed to have this little business and so so grateful for my best friend who saw something in me and pushed me to turn my hobby into a business!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being a self-taught photographer, I have definitely had my fair share of mistakes and challenges. There’s been a lot of growing pains and lots of learning involved in my journey. I am still learning as I go but I believe the challenges have made me a better photographer and business owner!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Central Florida photographer who specializes in portrait photography. I’m known for my warm natural style photos. I’m most proud of the weddings I have done, it was very challenging but the results were so rewarding! I think what sets me apart is that I’m able to make my services accessible to everyone by offering affordable pricing!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters to me most is family, friends, and fellowship. It’s so important to me to take a step back from work and spend quality time with the people I love most!
