Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Malquist and Jennifer Williams.
About Face and Body is a joint partnership between two sisters, Jennifer Williams and Michelle Malquist. Born just 11 months apart, Michelle and Jennifer have always been close. As the oldest of six sisters, they care about the issues women face daily. With ten children between the two of them, they are busy mothers who know how hectic life can be! They understand that convenient and time-saving solutions are not options but rather necessities in life.
They started their business as About Face Ink in 2012 by offering permanent cosmetics, with the dream of providing medical tattooing in the future. As their reputation grew, they continued to add other services, including 3D Areola Tattooing, Scar Camouflage, and Procell MicroChanneling. The sisters uphold a high reputation among plastic surgeons, which frequently refer their patients to Jennifer and Michelle for post-operative procedures. Changing their name to About Face and Body became a natural extension of their evolution.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Social media exposure to Microblading launched the permanent cosmetic industry into the spotlight. As excitement spread, so did poor Microblading Training, taught by greedy instructors. People found themselves without adequate skills to do the work. They opened their businesses to find they did not have enough training to work on every client. With nine years of experience, About Face and Body creates results that keep clients happy and loyal. Our skills in 3D Areola Tattooing and Scar Camouflage elevate our results to the highest levels. We are confident every client will be happy.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Be wary of current Microblading and Permanent Makeup Training. Many trainers market themselves well but do not provide adequate one-on-one training experience. Research well the trainer’s reviews on Social Media and the internet in general. Compare the price of their training to others. Verify how many models you personally will work on during your training. Make certain you perform each service you are learning multiple times before your training is finished.
