Hi Kesha, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a church musician my entire life but I also had a knack for mashing up songs and remixing them. I started taking notes from my favorite local DJs and then my wife invested in all of my own gear when she saw my level of commitment. Now I’m Dj-ing all over the state of FLORIDA!!!!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My road so far has been pretty smooth. The hardest part of it all is continuing to learn and become better in your craft. Never Stop Learning!!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in creating the vibes for weddings and private parties. As a Dj you have to keep the people moving and grooving but you also have to know how to adjust on the spot to what the crowd needs. That’s what makes the job a challenge but so rewarding. I’m known for coming to the party as a Dj and leaving the party as the newest member of the family because at the end of the night we’ve all danced and sang together to have the best time. I’m different because I become family with my clients and they always continue to call me back!!!!
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I quit my second job to completely focus on being a Dj before I even had my first gig. I wanted to pour all of the time I could into it. I’d say sometimes I’m willing to take risks but I have to really be able to envision the reward that comes down the line. If you can’t envision the reward, the risk isn’t worth it because you don’t even completely believe in the risk yet.
