Daily Inspiration: Meet Alayna Pagan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alayna Pagan.

Hi Alayna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Hello, I am Alayna, the lady behind the lens. I have been working in front and behind a camera, since I was 15 years old. My journey began in TV Production class at Lake Brantley High school. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing teacher/mentor who believed in me since day one. I worked as a TV news anchor, video editor, and the camera girl! No matter where I was placed, I loved it and excelled at it. I worked on many projects throughout high school.

I worked on weddings, special events and even had an internship at a realtor company to film videos. A special thanks to my teacher/mentor for allowing me to check out equipment from the studio since I could not afford my own at the time. I worked really hard to earn enough money to have my own setup. As I got older and went off to college, my love for videography slowly faded and I eventually stopped. My interest for photos began to grow when I got asked to help my best friend out with pictures for her make-up looks. With prior knowledge in camera work, I adjusted quickly and I felt that spark again. I was able to express my creativity through photos and I really enjoyed showing people how beautiful they are from my point of view! Last summer, as I was rounding up all my work from a few gigs, I realized how awesome my work really was. I grabbed my notebook and started jotting down names until one finally stuck: Laydi Lens. My beautiful little business was born and I could not have been more happier.

​I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road to success is never easy, but I firmly believe hard work always pays off. I did not grow up wealthy but I was very fortunate to be surrounded by love and support. Being so young with limited equipment and money was tough because when I would go out to gigs, I would always see someone older with a ton of expensive equipment; it was discouraging at times but I never let that stop me from performing my best work. Now look, not only did I start up my own successful photography business but I am being featured in my very first magazine at age 23!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in portrait and fashion photography! I enjoy the creative side and business aspect of owning my own photography business. I am extremely proud of how far Laydi Lens has come and of all amazing opportunities I have been given. What sets me apart from other businesses is my open-mindedness, my originality, and the quality of work I produce.
