Today we’d like to introduce you to The Foodie Moves.
Hi The Foodie Moves, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As TheFoodieMoves’ founders, we (Uyen and Ryan) have been avid foodies growing up and as a couple, we have developed a love to document our experiences when we go out. Most of the time our dates consist of us trying out new cuisine and expanding our palettes. We love exploring and finding new places to eat. As one food date led to another, we started to review our adventures on Yelp and wound up achieving Yelp Elite status. Naturally, posting on Instagram was an excellent segway in our foodie lives. Whenever we invite our friends out to eat, we all ask each other “What’s the moves? Where are we eating?”. From thereafter, spawned the birth of “TheFoodieMoves” – with the help of our friends from @optomvic & @itslegallyfood. Our foodie Instagram has become the perfect place to share all the restaurants and cafes that we have visited. Orlando has been flourishing with new restaurants popping up left and right, making our foodie Instagram an ideal place to showcase these new locations. Of course, we can’t forget the older joints that have been forgotten, as we can garner a new audience that is willing to rejuvenate these places.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing is ever a smooth road, but we make the most out of what we are giving. We’ve learned a lot along the way and are still learning how to improve our contents daily. As we gained more experience, we found that it’s important to remember that we started doing this for our love of food, not because we want fame and exposure.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We’re self-proclaimed “professional eaters” 🙂 That may sound easy, but it actually requires a decent amount of work. This requires us to specialize in photography (just check our IG highlights “skilled” you’ll know what we mean) and composition. It’s hard work when you have to balance eating and keeping a strict diet. All jokes aside, we do this for fun. There’s still tons for us to learn.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Throughout our journey, the most important lesson that we’ve learned is to get out of our comfort zone and connect with our community, as well as get to know our fellow foodies. It has been hard, but we believe that through this hardship, we have developed a stronger bond.
