Today we’d like to introduce you to Ginette Persico.
Ginette Persico was born and raised in Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale, FL. From the age of 5 to 15, Ginette trained in dance, drama and voice at Emerald Hills Studio of Performing Arts. While modeling occasionally, she was a student-teacher at the studio throughout middle and high school, also cheerleading for her schools and town of Davie. She has been very active and creative since she was a little girl and has always enjoyed celebrating special days and helping with creating and hosting the party for those special events.
After high school, she got her license in skincare & makeup while working at Paul Triana Salon as a receptionist. When she was 18, she moved to Central Florida to work for Walt Disney World at the Magic Kingdom in the parades and shows. Working there from 1997 – 2000, she enjoyed performing for children of all ages! After leaving Disney to pursue modeling, she became self-employed, working at trade shows, auto shows and promotions all over the U.S. for large well-known clients such as Subaru, Kodak, HP, and Panasonic, to name a few; a makeup artist, educator, and sales representative for a private, professional cosmetic company; a consultant for Two Sisters Gourmet; a trainer, consultant and receptionist at Curves and Kinkz Salon and Day Spa.
While performing as a Princess at her goddaughter’s birthday, she was approached by other mothers who wanted her to come and perform for their children. After months of research in this market, she came up with the idea of starting her own company. In April of 2006, Butterfly Dreams emerged from their cocoon!
Butterfly Dreams has many parties to choose from, including Spa, Glamour, Sparkle-icious, Glow-tastic, Stuff a Bear, Princess & Pirate / Superhero, Cooking, Tea, Character Performer Appearances and much more, including our signature party, Butterfly Dreams Party. In 2018 Metamorphosis launched as the Grown Up side of Butterfly Dreams. Metamorphosis specializes in Event Hosting and Theme Parties.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the beginning, it was difficult for people to understand what exactly I did, as there were so many things that I offered, especially dressing up as a Princess – Princess Sparkle. Years later, most people couldn’t get the thought of Princess Sparkle out of their mind and thought that is all I offered, Also explaining we host for all ages and also offer a full planning experience. Therefore we morphed into Metamorphosis for our Grown Up side. Other challenges are finding the right people to work with us and represent Butterfly Dreams & Metamorphosis.
In 2020, we thought we would have a large obstacle. How do you host parties when the world is shut down? We morphed our companies into virtual activities and if 2020 taught us anything, it’s definitely that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything! We were fortunate to keep busy during the unsettling time providing entertainment, celebrating birthdays, summer & spring camps, and so much more virtually. Teaching myself how to morph into online events. Providing entertainment that even our youngest at three years old did not want us to “hang up”! We even created our Dreamy Boxes that would be filled with items pertaining to the zooms.
We also had a successful Easter season providing an Egg Your Yard service. 2021 was actually busier than 2020. We got to assist parents with “Egging” their yards for a morning surprise filled with candies and toys. Some even got a letter from the Easter Bunny!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I love being as creative as I can with all of my events. For kids and for grown-ups. We love to teach at each of our events. Even if it is just a Please & Thank you. 😉 We take our events very seriously and want to make it a fun environment for everyone.
A few examples with our Parties… Spa Party – we teach about skincare, personal hygiene, being your own best friend and so much more. Cooking Party – we teach how to follow directions as well as teamwork while they are cooking & baking. Canvas & Candy Party – we teach them that they can create a work of art. Glamour Party – we teach how to walk the runway, how to pose, and self-confidence.
I am proud to know that our guests enjoy all of our parties and I can see it when it is time to leave. They don’t want us to leave, they give big hugs and thank us over and over!
What makes you happy?
When I make the client and mini clients happy! It means everything to me that I just made a magical memory to last a lifetime for our clients, small and large! It fills my heart with joy to know that I was able to create that for a family, a community or a corporation.
