Hi Jamila, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hard work and never following the crowd.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely was not a smooth rode, I went back and forth with myself on making a move from Windermere to Winter Garden. After working with such big salons and owning my own, as well as being blessed enough to work with a clientele most stylists would dream of. I felt it would be a step down for someone like me. I had already made the tuff decision to stop my travels to California and Vegas so I could be closer to my mother and family. Let’s just say life had totally turned me in the opposite direction. I also never let circumstances get the best of me. At one time, I literally took so many hits in life, the kind that most people would give up after.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a salon owner who specializes in blonde hair, corrective coloring, and hair extensions. I’m an overachiever as well. I’ve been very blessed to work as a platform artist and celebrity stylist. I’ve also educated thousands of stylists and some local salons as well. I pride myself in customer service as loving what you do is more than talking about it you must bring it…
What matters most to you? Why?
Helping others by paying it forward as we never know what someone may be battling within life.
