Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheryl Cury.
Hi Sheryl, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was born on the Caribbean island of the Dominican Republic, where people are as warm as its weather, highly sociable and fun. Raised in this environment, I started to develop my people skills and leadership. I studied business administration and started a career in the bonds market, offering financial services through a very recognized Bank in the Caribbean.
I helped people invest their money in government bonds. In order to do so, I needed to connect with them while I helped them to understand the product and how it works. Since they were investing a large amount of money, I had to learn how to gain people’s trust and be liked. This has proven to be highly useful in the real estate field.
I was drawn to real estate by the flexibility of time and income potential. But the main reason what really made me fall in love with real estate has been that I love working with people and seeing the satisfaction in my client’s faces when I help them to accomplish one of their biggest dreams in their lives, makes my day. More importantly, I even enjoy navigating through my client’s daily struggles and helping them find the right solutions.
Ultimately I have worked with a lot of great people that have taught me a lot. So I felt the need to pay it forward. That is why I became a Real Estate Coach so I can teach new agents all about real estate so they can become efficient agents with high ethical values. I put my 100% on real estate, meaning my body, heart, spirit and brain to make it work. I treat clients like they are family not only to make them feel good but because I actually see them that way. I help them, in the same way, I would with a family member.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Right in the middle of the pandemic where people were scared to be in the proximity of other people or their house. It was a challenge for me to convince clients that it was safe to do so with the proper safety measures. During that time, I was pregnant, and my husband felt it was a higher risk and didn’t want me to be exposed. Another challenge was that those tenant and owners occupied properties was only providing limited access to see those properties. I decided nothing was going to stop me, and I was making sure I was safe. I was available when other agents were not. So I was able to take advantage of lower competitors out on the street. And got the best of the bad situation and I ended up having the best selling volume of my young career.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
With my real estate service and dedication to my clients, I am looking to contribute with the name of a realtor like a person who is there to guide you and help you in any real estate transaction. My goal is to ensure that the needs of my client are met beyond expectations, always giving the extra mile; Always with my clients best interest in mind so families can get the right home for them.
I always want to be available for my clients, and my number one priority is to create that “Wow what a service” effect that leaves clients highly satisfied. I know it works because I get referrals while I am still working with them. I have a passion for serving my clients with their best interests in mind so families can get the right home for them. My knowledge of the market, negotiating skills and attention to detail are the keys to my success. I work every day with integrity, energy and high-level service in every detail of the real estate transaction.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
When I had around 11 years old, my parents didn’t have enough money to buy me a pool so I spent almost two years saving every penny from my lunch money and birthday gifts and Christmas to buy a plastic pool for my little sister and me and that was one of the biggest accomplishments for me. That was the moment when I realized that what you put in your mind you can have in your hand if you work hard for it.
