Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Castro.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
At the age of twenty, I decided that working for corporate America just wasn’t for me. I wanted more out of life and an outlet to help others. I was desperate for a change and wanted to do something more creative. As many young adults, I didn’t really know what I wanted to do as far as my career but my passion for skincare was something that was always in the back of my mind. That day I decided I was going to get my Esthetic’s license!
After attending Hollywood Institute of Beauty Careers for about four months, I graduated and obtained my license to practice Esthetics here in the state of Florida. Shortly after, I began working for a small local spa in Winter Park, Florida. I wanted to gain as much experience working in this field as I could but being an Entrepreneur runs in my blood. My parents owned their own companies growing up so opening a spa was a big dream of mine. In 2018 I made the jump and leased out a small 200 sq foot office space and opened Glow Getter Studio! It was such a scary thing to do since I was starting from zero with no clientele. I focused my time on social media to reach potential clients and quickly began to grow my client base. About a year later, I was completely booked back to back to back! This was a huge milestone that I was so proud of! I outgrew my 200 sq foot studio and decided to expand my business. I now own a skincare boutique near Downtown Orlando and employed my first Lead Esthetician to work beside me. Now I get to help others feel beautiful and confident in their own skin. I only hope to keep growing from here!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Owning a business has its ups and downs. I’ve had so many breakdowns along the way. I was struggling so much with my mental health. When I first opened back in 2018, I was terrified. I didn’t know how I was going to be able to afford the rent for the studio and also pay my bills since I didn’t have much clients. It was also a huge investment to buy products, machines, and supplies. I had contemplated closing my doors so many times and giving up. Thank God for a supportive husband that always assured me that we would make ends meet and to never give up on my dreams. As I began to build a clientele, the support that was shown from them was incredible. I now have the most loyal and kind clients.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is that our client’s skin care needs are met. We want all of our clients to look in the mirror and love the skin that they’re in. Struggling with acne in the past, I know firsthand how it can play a role in your self-esteem when dealing with it alone. That’s the reason I take pride in guiding my clients through their skincare journey.
