Hi Ambar & Elisa, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
We (Elisa and Ambar) met in Retail who soon became best of friends. We didn’t get fulfillment from working a dead-end job and we always found ourselves wanting to pursue our passion, which involved anything aromatic. Before and after work, we would get together to mix scents to create candles for our personal use. Friends and family started to compliment our unique scented candles and that’s when we found ourselves making candles for them, not only for ourselves anymore.
Therefore Guilty Scents was inspired.
We’re obsessed with unique and nostalgic scents, for example starting your morning off with a scent of fresh brewed coffee or opening up your favorite box of cereal.
Our creativity grew from candles to an entire collection including body care products and wax décor. Our ideas haven’t slowed down. We have so many more projects in the works, examples like your favorite flavored snack-inspired scents all the way to an anime collection that appeals to all ages.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Our biggest struggle, just like everyone else, has been the pandemic. As an up and coming small business, it’s been a challenge sticking to the traditional ways of starting a business. Due to Covid restrictions limiting us from doing what we do best which is face to face interactions, we had rely on social media and online resources.
With everything going on in the world, a big headache was delayed shipments and receiving supplies on time.
Another obstacle that we’ve come across is trial and error on perfecting our products. Whether it’s figuring out the proper measurements or coming up with which scents mesh well together, we strived to get the best results each time.

We specialize in nostalgic and unique scents that we create in many forms. We’re known for taking your ordinary candle and body scrubs and revamping them to a trendy, next level product. We believe that what sets us apart from others is our ability to show our personality through our products. Elisa is most proud of creating a product like our on the go exfoliant cubes. On the other hand, Ambar is most proud of creating a sugar scrub that lather and exfoliates your skin. Our brand is not only a name. It’s our life, it’s our outlet, it’s our passion.
What matters most to you?
We can both agree that what matters most to us is bringing back those scents that take people back in time. We find happiness when people smell our products and it reminds them a certain memory that brought them joy.
