Today we’d like to introduce you to Suzi Hosfeld.
Hi Suzi, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started modeling at age 11. Modeling in New York, Paris, Japan and of course Milwaukee and Chicago. My photos have been in multiple magazines including Vogue. In 1982 my agent advised me to enter the Miss Wisconsin USA Pageant which I did, I was 4th runner up. I returned the following year and won! My experience at Miss USA formed my decision to work with pageant girls and work with models.
From then, I started my own modeling agency, which has grown into one of the largest in Florida. We book models all over the world and in commercials, movies, print work and fashion shows. Envy Models and Talent has been in business since 1984 and every year, we branch out into new and exciting areas, from handling singers to ladies in the Plus Size (Curvy) market. We handle some of the best kids in the business and are known for our talent. Then, as many pageant girls do, I started working as a pageant director for some of the largest systems. I was asked to be the National Director of the Miss Global USA pageant five years ago, and as the National Director our winners have placed in top 10 or top 5 for the last four years! I am so proud of our winners. I also started the Miss Universal Global pageant which encompasses all age divisions. Our winners will then go into our agency for model placement. We have assisted pageant girls to crossover into the modeling, acting and entertainment industry.
I believe that you can do whatever you want, achieve whatever you want, you just have to work hard and never say no. Have faith in yourself.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There were many struggles, from economic downturns to the AIDS crisis. However, the hardest struggle was Covid. Clients were not booking, pageants were not happening, it was tough. However, we held our National Pageant last year at the height of Covid, masked (except on stage), sanitized and socially distanced. We were so tough on the ladies, but NO ONE got sick and we won the National Pageant of the Year Award because of it. As far as modeling, we started to teach clients how to hold virtual auditions and both the clients and models loved it! It’s an easy way to audition and the models can do it at any time of day or night! I think this is a trend that will continue.

Envy Models and Talent is one of the largest modeling and talent agencies in Florida. Booking models and talent all over the world. Envy Pageant Productions Inc. is the home office for Miss Universal Global Pageant and Miss Global United States. Our national winners go to the International level and our Miss Global United States winners have placed top 10 or top 5 in the last 5 International pageants, an incredible feat.
We are most proud of the models and talent we represent and our pageant winners. We feel it is important to be inclusive and to support everyone. What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Always be humble, always try to help everyone, be kind. I am very direct so sometimes people think I am mean…no such thing. I’m just there to say it like it is.
