Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorenis Jordan.
Hi Lorenis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am from Venezuela. I came to this country with my husband and my two daughters, now we are five… I started with this dream last year, on September 25, 2020. I have a friend and she wanted her daughter’s birthday with the theme Aladdin and she was asking me if I knew someone for making decorations with balloons and I said “I don’t know anyone, but I think I can do it” and she gave me the opportunity to make completely all the decoration without training but I had too many ideas in my head running days and nights. Those party was my first negotiation in this beautiful world and I fell in love.
From September 2020, I have been studying, taking classes to offer the best of me to my clients because it is a responsibility when the people trust on me to make their dreams celebrations come true. That’s why I put all my love and my heart in every single client because I just want to give happiness with my balloons. That’s what balloons mean to me, joy, smiles, happiness.
My best team are my family… My husband build my things to rent, like backdrops, tables, light letters, numbers and many things that I have in my head. Lol… My daughters, I have three princesses, 11, 10 and 4 years old… In each set up, I take one for one day and the another one for the other set up, my baby she helps me in the house holding the balloons when I need it… I love what I do, I love to teach them because in this way, they value everything in life and learn that you have to work for dreams if you want to fulfill them.
We came to this country with two bags and too many dreams, we didn’t speak English and we have been working really hard to make our dreams come true.
We are grateful with God because we are healthy and every single day is a new opportunity to say Thanks God for everything, He is our center.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It is not been a smooth road for us because we are professionals, Engineers, and we started working really hard everyday, all nights, without days off, but everything depends on how you see the things. I ever say, if you are a doctor you have to work to be the best doctor if you are a housekeeping you have to work to be the best every time, and you have to get out through the big door, so we started cleaning restaurants and clinics, but when we decide to move on, our boss said “you are an awesome people” and that is the best presentation that each person needs to have. God has been good with us.
We’ve been impressed with Le Petit Balloons and Flowers Paradise, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a small business, for now, lol dedicated to the decorations for parties, events. Also, we rent sets for your celebrations, we make Personalized Balloons bouquets, personalized T-shirts and we are doing cube tables, backdrops, and any sets in wood for our partners, like letters, numbers, and much more.
Also, we have delivery and installation services…
We are specializing in the balloon world, taking continuous training.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Take risks, for me, is the best way to know what do you have inside. Of course, I have taken risks, just with came to the US without anybody here, without enough money is the biggest risk I’ve ever taken.. and then, I left my Job for build this dream, my own business doing that I love. With God all is possible and in God we trust. When you don’t try something, you are losing maybe the best opportunities to have the success. Everything is in the constancy.
