Today we’d like to introduce you to Mara Bavaresco.
Hi Mara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am Venezuelan, Maracaibo and I live in the United States, Kentucky Louisville. Mara Jewelry was born from the art, inspiration and affection that I have for my pieces… I am Mara, I am 18 years old, I am a designer and goldsmith of elements in 950 sterling silver with filigree sparkles handmade. ⠀
My name is Mariajosé, but my family and friends call me Mara, and I love him because that’s what my brother called me since I was born, who has always wanted me to make a difference and thus, the name of my brand.
I come from a family of goldsmiths, with the passion, teaching and support of my parents for the art they develop. Since I was little, my park was the goldsmith’s workshop, where I enjoyed playing with tools such as the hacksaw, hammer and vinyl, until I was 16 years old, when I decided to create my brand and tell people, here I am… here is Mara.
The year 2019 was my preparation, investigating and opening doors, since goldsmithing is not easy, the process of creating a piece is complex, but at the same time fun.
When I took the hacksaw and made the first pieces, I said: this is what I need, this is my happiness. Thus, on April 25, 2020 I opened the doors of Mara Jewelry with the support of my parents and it is noteworthy, the great reception of the brand in Instagram followers, that is why I say when you set your mind to it… you do it.
For me, the quarantine has not been an interruption, it has become an undertaking and learning.
It is a time of crisis, but it is not a time to stop… it is a time to move forward.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For me, it was never an obstacle at such a young age to build my own brand. Learning how to design and manufacture high-quality items let me know that this was my passion. I love my work and the teachings it has given me more every day.

I am a goldsmith and designer of fine elements of 950 sterling silver with filigree sparkles handmade. My brand is distinguished since we elaborate fine threads inserted in the pieces, this gives it the touch of authenticity. I am proud to know that I have a team that always gives the best and we can innovate elements that our public will love.
I would love for the reading public of this magazine to get the message that we can create and design unique and unforgettable elements, we are goldsmiths and we have a learning that helps us continue to innovate creations and designs that market moments that will last forever.
