Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexia Amanda Aldebol

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexia Amanda Aldebol.

Hi Alexia Amanda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My story begins with losing everything and being blessed enough to have the privileged to begin again. This is called my purpose driven life.

In 2017, I fell asleep while driving. Overworked and underpaid, I found myself in route commuting from one job to the next and all of a sudden I woke up to the sounds of the jaws of life clipping away at what was left of my car. With this traumatic car accident I suffered a minor brain injury and two major surgeries that left me in a wheelchair for four months. I had physical and speech therapy, and for a year and nine months I fought to regain my life back. Learning how to read, write, talk wasn’t the most challenging part of my journey. It was waking up everyday and deciding to move forward, even if that means just deciding to be present and not let the circumstances outweigh your perspective. Living in the ICU and realizing how fragile life is, well it truly ignited something in me. I also found that allowing others to help you along the way is apart of the journey as well, I’m blessed to have the support system I did. The small victories are to be celebrated just as much as the big accomplishments. So being able to transfer out of my hospital bed, and into my wheelchair was just as important as allowing my mother to sponge bathe me at 27 years old, having my best friends quiz me on reading flash cards, being accepted to go outside and enjoy the sunshine therapy and eventually being able to drive again.

Life is all about being grateful and moving forward.

Today I am an actor, singer, dancer and entrepreneur. I look back and I realize that there’s a season for everything. I’ve learned that where life begins and ends isn’t where the story lies. It’s the journey in between. And I truly want to make every moment count, so I choose to live intentional every day and try to inspire others to do the same.

After my recovery, I focused on my passion in the arts, I moved to Orlando and took classes at The Maile School of Acting in Winter Park. That’s where I found my agent and never stopped working on my craft.

I am now an instructor there and apart of their Maile Acting Master program. This past summer I landed a lead role as Ruth in an independent film called “A time for every purpose”, the title alone filled my spirits and I felt so blessed to be in the room with such a remarkable cast and crew. All of this was filmed here in Florida by the way.

Allow me to give a quick Shout out some of my ATFEPFilm Fam! Quinton Macari (Writer, producer and editor) Big shout out to Lance Smith ( Director, Writer) and of course The Funk Master Ryan Funky ( producer and director or photography)… I mean I can go on and on so let me stop there but that cast and crew were amazing I love those people man. Did I mentioned it was filmed in Florida, I’m so proud of that!

I also dabble in entrepreneurship by inspiring, mentoring and managing character performers in my Partnership with Fantasea Character Co. I also just starred a new project called Actors Directory that helps guide southeast actors in the right direction through their journey in pursuing a career in entertainment. I know how challenging it was for me to get started so that’s kinda like “Diary” or my Little Black Book of tips tricks and inspiration to keep moving forward for my acting family. These companies are both Florida base and I have teamed up with two fierce boss babes to keep the ball rolling.

Overall I constantly live in my gratitude because sometimes a breakdown is a set up for a breakthrough. – Alexia keep moving forward.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Not at all, I lost my physical, mental and financial stability!! And as soon as I think I have everything planned out, life happens again. Change is always constant.

I think what makes this journey smooth is the genuine love and support. It’s truly my Framily. Which is what I call my friends and family.

I learned that although the “Hero’s Journey” is a personal one, it’s the people along the way that help get you there that makes a difference. So I lean on the kindness of strangers and I created my family. It takes a village. I have my Fantasea Family, my Acting Family, my blood family, people that Are friends but I adopted as family. None of us is as good as all of us put together. I often say, what legacy can we leave together?

I am just overall truly very blessed, and living in that gratitude knowing that my life is a ripple effect in effecting others around me, it helps the transition become smoother in time.

Everyday I had to look in the mirror and ask myself… why are you pursuing the entertainment industry? It’s filled with uncertainty, rejection. I literally just lost everything and I’m now willing to risk it all! Do you know how crazy I look and sound? But it’s simple for me, having a life-altering accident were coming out of the hospital room and finally coming home, taking that first breath of actual air. I learned that there’s a difference where you are able to breathe rather than breathing just out of existence. So I don’t ever want to disrespect those people who weren’t so blessed and lucky to leave the hospital. I make each breath count.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an entertainer. I am an actor, singer, dancer. I am a storyteller. I am the most proud of the opportunity to evoke emotion. As humans, we are all very different, we share different views, different beliefs and different lifestyles, different interests. But all in all, we share the same time of emotions that’s why the arts is where we can come together and laugh, cry, harmonize and dance. I am the most proud to create a space within the arts to bring that to everyone of every age.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the communities! Lake Eola is one of my go tos when it’s for an early morning run, a weekend market activity or just a late night stroll under the city lights. Oh the least thing I like about this city is i4 and the eyesore of Orlando.

I feel like I should make it my personal mission to decorate it for Christmas, you know like have it become the grinch’s Christmas tree, I’ll get a couple of local actors to sing Christmas songs It’ll be a whole thing.. Who knows it’ll probably make it one of the best things in FL. Look at me trying to make something out of nothing. Haha I gotta go. Thanks for having me it’s been such a pleasure.
