Today we’d like to introduce you to Hailey Hart.
Hi Hailey, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Photography has always been a passion of mine. I was known as “the friend with the camera” growing up. I always had a camera at my side, snapping away at all of life’s fleeting moments. In college, I spent my free time as a student photographer for our University, which was my first paid role in photography. After college, my camera sat on the shelf for some time until I had my own kids. Once my children were born, I realized how quick time can pass and how special it was for me to capture that time in photographs. My passion came surging back all over again. I took a few workshops and finally branched out starting my own wedding & family photography business at the end of 2019. Just a few short months later, the pandemic slowed down our world. I was forced to leave my day job to stay at home with my kids. Photography was my outlet and I dove into learning more and more. Once things started to open back up, I booked clients like crazy and I haven’t looked back since.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road hasn’t always been smooth, which I think comes with life in general. As I had said, shortly after starting my own business, the world stopped as the pandemic took ahold of everything. I had to stay home and was not able to run my business because I was too afraid of anything happening to my clients or my own family. I used that time to dig deep and learn more about my passion for photography so that once things started to open up more, I was able to use what I learned to help grow my business.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
When I first created my business, I was heavily involved in wedding photography. But after a few years in, I’ve shifted and geared my business more towards lifestyle family photography. I describe my photography style as “storytelling” — I’ll always make sure to get a few of everyone smiling nice, but I’m really here for the authentic, unscripted moments.
How do you think about happiness?
My family and new adventures make me happy, combine that to being new adventures with my family and I couldn’t ask for more. I’m a dreamer and I’m always coming up with a new project, new craft, new trip, or new adventure to go on. Watching my children experience all these new things gives me the chance to slow down a bit and enjoy the moment.
