Life & Work with Diego Bravo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Bravo.

Hi Diego, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, the story begins when I first started with just being a normal street-level promoter passing out flyers or just promoting shows via social media. As I kept growing, I started working with bigger venues and marketing groups for example insomniac, sunsets events, blnkcnvas, and of course court st concepts.

Starting in February of 2021, it came to my realization that I’ve become pretty recognizable within the EDM community to create events for my friends mainly and the local scene. Once we started in Tampa with our original home market, I wanted to expand to being able to have two cities willing to work with my company and coming back to Celine which was one of my original clubs I worked with as a street promoter is extremely nostalgic and a topic I hold as a personal achievement. As psy keeps growing, we hope people remember the experience they have when listening to our lineups as we focus on creating lineups that are specifically tailored for each genre of EDM!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
If any of this was smooth, we would see so many more companies like insomniac and ultra. Being an event organizer has to be one of the most challenging tasks I’ve faced not due to it being extremely hard but everything comes with experience, everyone always asks what’s the tips or tricks I’d recommend and it’s simple just keep doing it and don’t stop trying because each event makes you learn something that will help you on your next one!

One of the biggest struggles I’d have to say would be learning how the little factors have the biggest effects in an event outcome and paying attention to detail is truly what will make the difference in success or failure.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Talent buying. It’s a simple two words that most people outside of the industry don’t truly understand. Talent buying isn’t just about knowing what’s hot on the market but also being able to sit and listen to so many different artists and just overall taking pride in knowing that artist you have selected have the musical ability to leave all your spectators leaving remembering your line up!

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Experience is something you can’t teach. You just have to hit the ground running and make sure the team supporting you is the team you want to share your dream with. Because everyone wants to work with family not just a team.
