Today we’d like to introduce you to Krystal & Bryant Gomez.
Hi Krystal & Bryant, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit my brother and I lost our jobs and I realized I needed to figure out another way to make money. I’ve been baking cookies since elementary school and it just came into my mind that I could make this into a business. I started testing recipes and slowly, my brother started to become interested and we became the official team of AfterHoursFL.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road at all. From waking up every day at 5am to make the dough with our one hand mixer to having technical issues with our oven. We now thankfully have been able to invest into a commercial mixer, but of course it is still a struggle sometimes and we try our best to overcome any mental blocks that come our way. We also didn’t have much background knowledge in this business so we definitely learn and make mistakes as we go.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
After Hours FL is a unique cookie business where you can satisfy your late night cravings any time of the day! We are most proud of just hearing people say, “I’m craving After Hours” that is a really great feeling and having our customers continue shopping with us. What sets us apart from others is the fact that we bake everything fresh and to order, so we know our customers will feel satisfied with fresh cookies.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to us is that the customer is satisfied even if we make mistakes we always strive to satisfy the customer.
