Check Out Christian Castro’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Castro.

Christian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I am 27 years old, born and raised in Rio Piedra, Puerto Rico until the age of ten, known best as VANNY. I grew up around musicians within my family so I’ve always been around music, always had a passion for it. I was always singing in church, playing instruments at church, leading the choir at church and that is honestly all I seen myself doing with my life and I still do! I still have a passion for praising. But it wasn’t till 2015 that I decided to really take my career serious and make something great out of myself and not just for me but for my kids as well Ayanaliz, Giovanny, and now the newest addition to the family Satori aka baby Ocean who is in her way! In 2016 I auditioned for a tv show (La Banda) on Univision and was chosen as one of the winners, then signed to Sony Music Latin forming part of a band named “Mix5” things didn’t go too well so I down my own path as an independent artist. Here we are 2021 still doing what I love independently, making a name for myself in the beautiful city of Orlando! Focused not so much On MAKING it but ENJOYING every beautiful moment I experience on way to success. Soon the whole world will know who VANNY is.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Nothing about this journey has been smooth and easy. I’ve had many moments where I wanted to give up, walk away, just hang up the gloves due to many frustrating situations within the industry. But it was in those moments where I had to really look at myself in the mirror and ask myself if I was really willing to let the obstacles completely get in the way of what I really want if I was really gonna be truly willing to give up and let my life go to waste doing something I wasn’t happy doing the rest of my life like plumbing or was I gonna step up to the plate and work through those obstacles. At the end of the day, I only gained wisdom, knowledge, and STRENGTH out of every single obstacle I’ve overcome. They helped me find myself as an artist and a man! It’s all been worth it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a Latin R&B artist, I love fusion of my Spanish heritage and music with my American roots, as well as dancing. My whole family descended from the Bronx, NY so I’ve always been influenced by American artists such as Michael Jackson, Boys 2 Men, Jodeci, Lauren hill, Brandi.. and the list goes on. That’s what sets me apart from most artists in the Latin and American industry. I’m making bi-lingual music with both Puerto Rican and American influences. I’m proud of what I am doing with my music and I can truly see it going global, INTERNATIONAL!
