Meet Rhiannan Kettlety

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rhiannan Kettlety.

Hi Rhiannan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My story begins around mid-high school As a part of my school’s theater. My journey set off when a hurricane trapped me in Ohio, causing my act from a show to be cut. As life passed on, I got myself into cosplay and live performance. Doing as many things as possible. Panels at local conventions such as METROCON OFFICIAL and live shows and contests at places out of the state, ZIP CON Ohio. Along the way winning some shows. My most recent work has been at the Carrollwood Players Theatre. I got to work alongside of so many amazing people to bring to life a Christmas carol. I now am looking for auditions nearly daily. Hopefully ending my search on Broadway.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Along the way, my struggles kept me back. From mental health and harassment by who I used to call my friends. It’s not been easy. My mental health always has been a part of me. It never seemed to go away and really never came out of nowhere. Panic attacks are only one of many things that can happen. Social battery’s are easy to run low. I just hope I may be able to use my experience with mental health to educate others who may be going through the same thing!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As an actor, it can be difficult to find a place that fits. Going from theatre to theatre can be draining. One of the things I do love to bring to shows and theatre is my violin. I have played for many years and it’s always an amazing addition to a show when someone can bring on stage an instrument. But for me, my proudest moment is not with my violin. But with my stage presence. I do struggle with lots of anxiety. It’s not easy to push through. But the day I did, I will never forget. After three years of pushing and struggling with my stage fright and anxiety, I was able to fully put myself into character and rock the show. As someone who has dealt with the anxiety, I hope to help others with it to push forward and keep looking up!

Call me crazy, but some of my best advice I have gotten has been from YouTube. Hannah Bayles has been such a big help and is so easy to learn from. Her videos have helped me a lot and all I can do is recommend anyone who needs it to her! Link: https://youtube.com/c/HannahBayles
