Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristy Sampson.
Hi Kristy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in the Central Florida area with aspirations of operating the largest youth basketball tournaments in the United States. For the first 16 years of my professional career, I did just that! I ran some of the largest youth sporting events while working at the Amateur Athletic Union Headquarters in Lake Buena Vista as a Senior Sports Manager. After fulfilling that dream of serving the youth of America, I had a strong desire to follow my dreams of helping homeownership become a reality for so many. There were many discussions with my brother, Robby, who has been in the mortgage business for 20 years. He was giving me the opportunity to make the move and I decided to take a leap of faith and pursue becoming a Mortgage Loan Originator. I was nervous to leave my comfort zone, but I have a super supportive family who encouraged me to make the change. My first year, I was a Loan Partner learning the business and after that, I became licensed and was originating home loans. In the beginning, you are trying to meet as many people as possible in the real estate world. I am grateful by what we’ve been able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. I never dreamt that these past six years would be so humbling and rewarding. I’ve been able to grow a small team and help them pursue their dreams as well.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say the road was a little bumpy in the beginning just because there was so much to learn. I didn’t sleep a whole lot the first few years. We’re constantly improving and tweaking our systems, so we’re not putting in 60 plus hours like I was. Thankfully, I am learning from the best Loan Originators in the country. I am a part of a coaching program called The Core. I am very coachable, and I run the plays they put in front of me.
