Today we’d like to introduce you to Axel Perez.
Hi Axel, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I always had a passion for the radio, voiceovers always call my attention, some times for the mystery that involves… so I went to Miami Dade College and specialized in radio production, broadcast, voiceover and everything that surrounds that fascinating career, also getting a little involved in public relations…I started doing several years in Miami in a radio station where I paid for the space, it was a show more than anything that offered some help to the community with different invited professionals. Later I went to an internet radio station with a show called Doble Sentido, with Axel Perez for five years, I had that show with many guests from the show business, local politicians, composers, singers, etc. I remember to have among my guest Daddy Yankee when he just started. In 20 years, I have interviewed many personalities, such as Steve Harvey, Don Francisco, Luis Fonsi, all Hispanic chefs from Food Nwetwork, Cooking Channel, Master Chef, etc. Also talents from Disney Plus, Disney Channel, Netflix, Fox, LionsGate, Hulu, Telemundo among many others. In 2008 after I resigned from a radio station in West Palm Beach, they called me for a casting on Telemundo to be the official voice of the Billboard Awards red carpet … and you know that？ I won the position and went the official voice for ten years, I was also the official voice of Premios Tu Mundo for six years.
I have also been voiceover talent for Telemundo Orlando, Tampa and Austin, TX some radio and tv commercials.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There are always ups and downs in life, working in the media is a bit difficult at times, there is a lot of competition, envy, etc. You have to stay current in everything and always be positive and grateful to God and those who give you opportunities. But I can’t complain …I feel very blessed by everything that has come to me.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a voiceover talent, blogger, brand ambassador, I conduct interviews for my podcast, Axel Perez Radio Podcast¨ I feel very fortunate with so many advertising and public relations agencies that contact me every week wanting me to interview their talents … the vast majority are agencies that represent American talent or products.
Even adult content sites contact me.
Everything I do makes me proud because everything has cost me work and sacrifice, that is why each of my achievements has a special value, such as this opportunity that you offer me, the privilege of being in your magazine honors and makes me proud … thank you.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Life gives us lessons every day, some good and others not so good, but they are always important teachings, we must see the positive in the negative and learn from it, continue with focus, faith, passion and discipline.
