Check Out Zachary Miller’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zachary Miller.

Hi Zachary, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am the co-founder of WeFlip Entertainment. My partner is Csaba Szilagyi. Csaba and I have been performing acrobatics together for over nine years. Three years ago, we got this crazy idea to take our skills and open our own business! That’s when WeFlip was born. At the time, we both worked at Disney as stuntmen and the business was a side project. However, right away it started to take off. In the first year, we landed long-term contracts in places like SeaWorld Orlando and Valleyfair in Minnesota. We kept chugging along until we were hit by a “train,” just like everyone, with the pandemic. We first saw every single event for the entire year cancel on us. In addition to that, we both were eventually laid off by Disney due to the pandemic. However…we were determined to keep going…

Fast forward a couple of months through the pandemic and we got a crazy idea to deliver circus shows straight to houses, summer camps, and schools. We would pull a trailer that housed all our equipment and sound. We could pull right up in a socially distanced way, set up in 5 minutes, and put on a 30-min circus experience like you would get at any theme park! This new product jump-started our business and now we have seen amazing growth in not only in our Curbside Circus brand but also our WeFlip brand! This year we were able to perform across the United States and get back to what we love to do!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not always been smooth…but everything pales in comparison to the huge obstacle that is COVID-19. After March 2020, we saw our entire line up for the year cancel…we lost all work for 2020 at that point. It was a dark time, not only for us but also for the performers that we had on our shows. We were in the middle of a few contracts and had to cancel work for almost ten performers. I firmly believe that this challenge will help us better plan financially and mentally for anything that comes at us in the future!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
WeFlip Entertainment provides acrobatic shows for theme parks, theatres, schools, summer camps, and films. We train and create shows from 3.5 minutes long to 60-minutes. In any of our shows you might see a guy being launched into the air by an adult see-saw, a guy jumping over 10ft in the air with stilts, world class jump ropers, or maybe even a girl climbing 15ft in the air on stacked chairs!! Each one of our skills is re-themed depending on the season, from Mardi Gras to Christmas! But, what are we most proud of? It’s not our skills… We set out on this journey to be a company like no other, that treats its performers with the upmost respect and treats us like we wanted to be treated when we were working for other companies. In addition, we pride ourselves on being customer oriented and not only providing a great show but also someone who is easy to talk to and always available to help!

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
I think this will vary from person to person and your specific situation…but family and friends are always great to lay into when you are having an issue with your business. They might not know the right answer or know anything about your business, but they can get you to think in ways you haven’t and outside the box.
