Rising Stars: Meet Ross Kratter

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ross Kratter.

Hi Ross, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have been a full-time musician since 2013, performing with nationally touring Broadway musicals, with world-renowned jazz artists, on cruise ships, and more. My most recent tour closed three months early as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been a Disney fan, and especially a Disney parks fan, since I was just 2 ½ when my family traveled out to Disneyland in California while we were out there for my uncle’s wedding. I have continued to visit the parks throughout my life and moved to Orlando recently to be closer to the parks. Because I was out of work due to COVID-19, last July I decided to become a certified Disney and Universal Specialist with Academy Travel, one of the most highly regarded travel agencies in the world. Music work has started to pick back up recently, so I am currently doing both music work and continuing my travel business.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been fairly smooth, but finding clients is not easy. I have spent a lot of money and time advertising.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a full-time musician and also a Disney and Universal travel agent. I am very proud of my music work especially. I have had my own 18-piece big band since I was 17 years old. I also have released an album and a single with small groups, and I am currently working on another one that should be recorded and released later this year.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I have been heavily involved in music for as long as I can remember and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. I learned more and more instruments as I grew up, eventually settling on double and electric basses as my primaries. Every day was consumed by rehearsals, lessons, and performances and traveling to said rehearsals, lessons, and performances.

Pricing:

  • My services as a travel agent are completely free of charge to the client, and they pay the same price as they would if they booked directly with Disney or Universal.
