Today we’d like to introduce you to Karla Berrios.
Hi Karla, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Venezuela, I studied medicine there, and I practiced my career as a doctor for seven years, I am married with two children (10 and 15 years old). We moved in 2015 to Ecuador and then in December 2017 to this beautiful city of Orlando, I have worked as a housekeeping, babysitter and then for almost two years as a sales associate in a cloth store (Tommy Hilfiger), due to the pandemic covid 19 I lost my job, then I decided to take another path, I studied and got certificates in Master Reiki, Access Bars Consciousness, Clinical Hypnotherapy with an academy endorsed by the state of Florida, Aromatherapy through the company Doterra USA, among others complementary certifications, starting my practices with friends and family, about two months ago I decided to develop my personal brand with everything I already learned, adding new ideas and projects, I decided to create and make my own scented candles based on soy wax and natural essences with ecological materials. This last project is still in development. Currently offering online therapies session-based mainly on hypnosis.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No. It has been a path of great learning, adaptation and personal growth, I think that this is life, with ups and downs, difficulties and challenges, in this path I′ve been acquiring the skills to overcome those challenges, starting from scratch is not an easy way, here the great challenge is learning English, and trying to incorporate myself into the American community, which is one of my top goals.
We’ve been impressed with Karla Berrios, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As I said at the beginning, I am developing my own brand, based on my professional experience and with re-inventions, Karla Berrios represents nature and connection with my life purpose, which is to help people in their healing processes in an alternative and complementary holistic point to conventional medical treatments, all this while I prepare and study to present the validation tests of my medical license in this country, I have worked a long time to maintain coherence in my life and thus transmit it to those who follow me and seek my support, I feel that this is what differentiates me, as well as the integration of all the alternatives that I offer, I feel proud of my personal brand because it represents that naturalness that characterizes me, I want readers to know my brand, to be an inspiration for them. Currently, I offer products such as doterra brand essential oils, handcrafted aromatic candles made by me, and as an independent hypnotherapist, I provide services in communications and personal improvement.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My recommendation always for others is that they try to connect with their life purpose, develop their gifts and talents, and offer them to the world, hence the connection with happiness and abundance, according to this premise, locate mentors with similarities, or you can simply make a list of all those that you admire, from your parents, teachers, friends, celebrities, etc. and distinguish the qualities that inspire you from them. For me, the world works and is based on the relationships you have, do not limit yourself in meeting people and networking, giving support and receiving support (feedback), working as a team, as it says in “A Course in Miracles”, Giving and Receiving mean the same thing. Each and every one of us has multiple capabilities that by joining together, we can do great things. In particular, I have achieved many things and experiences in my life, and although I still have a lot to learn, today I can affirm that it has always been better when I am accompanied. I try to live inspired and learn from everyone.
