Check Out Jennifer Yaneli’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Yaneli.

Hi Jennifer, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story began when I was 17. I was in high school during this time and I loved makeup but I wasn’t the best at it. Though I knew I wasn’t good at it- I never gave up! I even overheard people speaking about my eyebrows specifically, even family members, so there I knew I had to step up my game and I got the extra motivation.

Towards the end of my senior year, I lost all that motivation I had gained because I made the decision of getting married at the shortage of 18. That’s where my nightmare began. I am a domestic violence survivor. I had to live solely for him, and by his rules. If I didn’t that would be a beat I would receive. & I was just so good at hiding what was really going on in my life that no one noticed.

There came a point where I realized I needed to do something with my life and I couldn’t just listen to him and depend only on him regardless of how angry he may get. So, I took my makeup practices to Facebook life, where I knew there were so many people, both females, and males who wanted to practice the art of makeup and didn’t know where to begin. That’s where Jenn Belleza & Glamour was born. It all started with one life that got shared within many groups and my community began to grow. The way I expressed myself and taught people I didn’t even know across a screen made people support me and love me.

If it wasn’t for their motivation as well I wouldn’t be where I am. When I realized how far I was becoming and how my personal life would just get worse living with my ex, I decided to speak up & leave him. Yes, it was too late because nothing could be done anymore but at least I left the situation in one piece, whole. When I left him, he withdrew all the money I had saved up and I was left with NOTHING! Therefore, I had to start from the very bottom, 0$ in my bank account, and never once thought about asking my family for money.

I took action and sold my vehicle that my father gifted me as a gift for my 15th birthday; and with the little money I got from it, I decided to invest in makeup and resell it to my viewers. The way I thought about it was, I can sell them the product I am using and at the same time they will learn how to use it – it, a 2 for 1. BOOM! That’s where I knew I did right, slowly I began to have more money saved up, and eventually, it became my main income. After about two years and a half of doing Facebook lives, I can say I became a successful upcoming beauty influencer, now getting income from social media itself, collaborations, and selling cosmetics.

The support I got from my followers was something I never imagined, when I shared my story, the amount of messages and emails I received of women going through the same thing was insane. That’s when I knew my platform could also be used to spread awareness against domestic violence. To this day, I always try to speak about it and motivate women to speak up! I won’t lie and say there are days where I feel like I don’t have a purpose in life & blame life for the things I have gone through at such a shortage, everyone has their own demons, but then I look at how far I’ve come and it all just makes sense.

My family has always had my back every step of the way, they have always motivated me to get up and always try my best. When it comes to any curveball that life throws at me they are the ones there to help me resolve anything no matter the difficulty. As for how I got to where I am today, having almost 100,000 followers in my Facebook page, I believe it’s all about being genuine and never giving up, no matter what you go through. Don’t look back at your past and victimize yourself for it, take it and make the best of it, like I did, I used my experience to speak up and motivate others to think about themselves first and leave any situation that doesn’t bring happiness to them. My love for makeup and helping others is out of this world!

I love the reaction my clients get after I do their makeup, the comments I receive on my Facebook live on how beautiful my makeup came out or when they message me to tell me that their skills have bettered in makeup because my tips are just satisfaction that is irreplaceable. That’s how I know I am on the right path, when I see how others react to my actions, it’s a reassurance that god made me fight those battles to put me in this very place I am in and make the best out of it! I am a proud 22-year-old, Mexican American woman who was forced to start off with nothing and is on her way to bigger and better things with God’s hands and the support of my family.

With love, Jenn Belleza & Glamour.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
No, not at all. I think depression after my divorce took the best of me. But, with faith and the love and support, I received on social media and with my family, I built myself up again, like a new person. My fear of failing again in anything was tremendous, I was afraid to start anything new.

lost romantic relationships, friendships including family members on this journey, some people don’t have the same vision and that’s okay. I mean think about it, how boring would the world be if we all thought the same way! Each head is its own world, and I live by that, You can’t force anyone to believe in what you believe in or see things like you do.

That’s been a big struggle of mine, doubting myself and my decisions because someone else doesn’t understand or see things like I do, some people only bring out the cons in everything but I’ve learned to just risk it and hope for the best! Life’s about taking risks and whatever makes you happy!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I currently work at Villa Nails & Spa in Kissimmee as a receptionist, I work there as well as me being an upcoming beauty influencer and make-up artist. I basically have four jobs, Beauty Influencer, selling cosmetics, receptionist, and a makeup artist for clients around my area. I started my journey to becoming a beauty influencer back in 2019, I began conducting facebook lives just practicing my makeup and it became an everyday thing.

As I continued to do my makeup live I learned more about makeup because of some of the tips other girls would give me, so it was a win-win. I would learn on the way as well as others learn from me the little I did know. As of what I am proud of, it’s confidence in my work and how I impact others. I see the work I used to do back in 2019 and let me just say it’s been a rough ride! I’m not a professional yet, but I am so proud of how much I have learned and put into practice to make my work better!

As for impacting others, It’s such a nice feeling when I get messages from my followers letting me know my tips have helped them or how my personal story is relatable to them and that they don’t feel alone going through the same situation and feel motivated to leave what’s draining their energy and happiness.

What’s next?
I personally don’t like thinking about the future. It gives me false hope. Things happen and everything can change in a blink of an eye. But, If I could set my plans in stone, it would be to be a well-known beauty influencer and give makeup courses around the world.

Not only that, but because of what I went through – domestic violence, I would love to have a shelter for the women who went through the same situation. In that same shelter, women who would agree to, would get a full makeover and get therapy for what they had gone through.

Those who choose to would also be able to participate in cosmetology courses that would be given there in the shelter.

I have a friend from Church that has been feeding and dressing homeless for years. Would like for her to give her story. She provides this service once a month with others that have the same heart helping. She’s in charge of Food preparation and collecting clothing, toys, Thanksging, and Christmas baskets.
