Daily Inspiration: Meet Marsee Richard

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marsee Richard.

Hi Marsee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It all started as a young girl, I always looked up to my mom, who is equally fashion-obsessed. She instilled a love of shopping and dressing up that carried over into my teen years. By high school, I had already coined myself as “The Fairy GodMarsee”, gifting my friends certificates that were good for one styling session with me at the local thrift stores, and inevitably, I ended up going down the path of a retail management career. While that didn’t quite work out, I did realize that all along, I’d been doing what I loved, which was inspiring others to express themselves through fashion and develop their own personal style! So now, here I am as a stylist and fashion content creator, living out a piece of my dream.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I hit many road bumps along the way, mainly with me standing in my own way. There’s no set path or instruction manual, and at the end of the day when you’re trying to show your value to others, you have to see your value first. I had a lot of self-doubt, wondering if anyone would take me seriously or be willing to invest in my expertise, but I really just had to learn to get over myself.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a fashion stylist and creative specializing in mid to plus-size fashion. I believe that style is attainable for every body type. I’m mainly known for helping my clients incorporate new pieces into their current wardrobe and helping them develop their personal style. I set myself apart by diving deep with my clients to get a good sense of who they are and what their goals are and help them curate their closet to reflect the life they want. Nothing feels better than being able to see the confidence boost that happens between the “before” and “after” when my clients are finally dressing for who they really are.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I don’t particularly have any additional resources that help me outside of the standard organizational apps 😅
