Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaia Cliatt.
Hi Amaia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Amaiaimarixo is a lifestyle brand that was created to help motivate and inspire other young mothers through faith, motherhood, and lifestyle.
At the age of 21, I gave birth to my son, Acen while still in college trying to navigate being a mom, going to school full time, and working full time. I knew there was something more that God wanted from me when it came to this new role/calling that I just received “motherhood”. I also wanted to help motivate other young mothers because the challenges that come with being a mother and a single mother at that were tough!
Ultimately, I wanted to change the way motherhood looked in my community and family. I was introduced to influencing and blogging and from then I knew I had yet another gift.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This journey has not been easy but by God’s grace, mercy, and strength I have been able to make it each day.
The challenges have been more so mental than anything! I used to overthink myself into a really bad place and that would allow fear to creep in and stop me from moving forward with certain creative ideas. I also had a hard time finding balance and setting boundaries by stretching myself too thin and ultimately being left tired and burned out.
Once I prayed about it and really started being intentional with my thoughts and what I allowed myself to listen to then everything changed. I also have been so much better at setting boundaries.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
By day, I am an ABA therapist for children with autism and disabilities. I absolutely love the career field that I’m in it’s so rewarding. I’m also a fitness influencer I absolutely love working out and all things fitness.
I am super proud of being a mother to my 2-year-old son Acen, I learn so much from him every day he’s truly a blessing.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Well, I was a dancer for 15 years! I trained intensely in modern, ballet, and contemporary. I have taken workshops and intensives with Alvin Ailey, Broadway dance center, and a few others in New York. I also was a 14 karat gold dancer for Bethune-Cookman University.
