Rising Stars: Meet Craig Kotilinek

Today we’d like to introduce you to Craig Kotilinek.

Hi Craig, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I started CSK Creative in 2008 specializing in video production. I had some big-name clients but really too few to be anything more than a job that I owned, rather than an actual business. When my wife came on in 2018, everything changed.

We went from focusing entirely on video production to gradually increasing our service offerings to everything from copywriting to photography to SEO to Google Ads management and much more. Video production is still one of our core competencies and gets us in the door with many clients because we find that many businesses are looking for a higher-quality service than they’ve received from other companies.

From there, we will often expand our services with that client and become their outsourced marketing department, often for a fraction of the price of a traditional in-house marketing department.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
We’re one of the many overnight successes that’s been years in the making. We struggled quite a bit until we started to treat our business just like any of the other businesses we were working for and marketed it.

We’ve always been fortunate to have enough food on the plate, but we also never had the need for expansion until the last several years, when our growth trajectory has been off the charts.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are mostly known for our custom touch. Whether it’s video production, photography, copywriting, or just about any of our other creative services, we deal with clients in a collaborative, custom way that gets to the best finished product.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
When it comes to video production, we shoot everything from boats at 40 miles per hour in our custom photo boat to interviews with CEOs to events. The variety is what surprises people sometimes.
