Community Highlights: Meet Bethany Bixler of Mommy’s Movie Magic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bethany Bixler.

Hi Bethany, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
At the time, I started Mommy’s Movie Magic, it was just a fun thing I did for my family. I created these themed movie night parties for my kids as a fun way to introduce them to the characters and movies that we were going to see on our first trip to Disney World!

My daughter, who was 5 at the time wasn’t thrilled about sitting down and watching an old movie. So to make it fun I did a whole night dedicated to that movie. The food, drinks, dessert, and even crafts were all themed with the movie we were watching.

She loved it!

Every week, I would post about it on my personal Facebook page and so many of my friends would tell me that I needed to start a blog about it and show other moms how to do this! It just seemed like so much work to me at the time. Fast forward 3 years…

Something about going through the pandemic changed me. Or maybe it’s because I hit the age of 35. But something clicked inside of me and I wasn’t afraid of rejection, people, or anything. I was ready to put myself out there and do this for me and my family. Because if I didn’t… no one would.

So I started my blog. Mommy’s Movie Magic was born. And while it is very much in its infancy and finding its place in the world, I am not. I started showing moms and dads how to recreate these fun movie nights to their favorite Disney movies (and more). I try to make it as easy as possible. With showing shortcuts to recipes, or even creating crafts with printables or things that are just laying around the house.

Life is so busy, parents need an easy fun way to have fun with their kids sometimes. And who doesn’t enjoy a party! After about 6 months of running, my blog, I realized something was missing. I wasn’t quite filling a gap here for families. So I became a Disney Travel Agent. I now help busy mama’s plan that Disney Magic at home, as well as that Disney Magic in the parks. It’s a perfect combination for someone like me and my love for Disney!

The best part? Is that everything I do is free to those busy mamas! I provide movie nights, recipes and more on my blog as well as my Travel Agency Services are free as well! The cost is included in the price whether you use a Travel Agent or whether you book yourself. There’s always that misconception and it makes me happy that I can provide that Disney magic to anyone looking for it at home or inside the parks.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting any business is never a smooth road. But it’s as smooth as I could ask it to be! Having support from my husband and family has been super amazing. Knowing that I knew nothing about starting a blog or how to be a Travel Agent was scary.

It’s always hard jumping into something new. Struggling to put on all the hats of an entrepreneur has been super humbling. I always wonder if I’m enough, and if I have what it take to succeed where there are so many things out there competing with me and against me.

I just try to do my best every day and hope that I’m seen for what I can provide to the world and leave it a much more magical place.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is a combined business of Travel Agent and Blogger/Creator very specialized in Disney. So many people are not able to experience Disney magic all the time. So my goal is to get that magic to everyone, whether at home to help get that magic inside the Disney parks.

I help people get to Disney at no extra cost to them on the Travel Agency side of my business. Then on the other end, my blog is all about easy Disney-themed movie nights complete with recipes, crafts, and more to bring your favorite movies and characters to life inside your home. What sets me apart is that I focus on the busy mama. I love helping busy moms take shortcuts to make my recipes and still be able to get that magic.

And the same with my travel agency. Life is already jam-packed with many things to think about, I want to make planning for a Disney Vacation as enjoyable and stress-free as I can. What I’m most proud of is that I get to help take one thing off the busy mom’s plate. To make enjoying her time with her family more enjoyable and easier. I want readers to know about my brand is that to support me costs $0 extra dollars to you.

To plan a Disney vacation with my Disney expertise is the same cost whether you book yourself or use my experience to give you the best Disney Vacation. It’s a huge misconception that there are hidden fees somewhere. There are none and the prices are the same! I love being able to provide everything I do, including my blog, at NO EXTRA COST to the consumer.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is based around Disney movies.

My dad worked a lot and all I wanted was to spend time with him after he got home from work. So the big thing we would do together is sit down and watch movies together as he rested from his long day. I remember specifically remember watching Angels in the Outfield a lot because we’re also a big baseball family.

We would watch the movie and joke about the one-liners and enjoy our evening just sitting and watching a movie we enjoyed. That’s why movies are such a big part of my life. They were a reason for my family to bond and relax together when there was little time for other things.
