Today we’d like to introduce you to THE REAL GABBANA.
Hi THE REAL GABBANA, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I knew how to Rap since I was a kid, my first time recording music was in October of 2018 I did the Kodak Black ZeZe freestyle dropped it on Facebook, and picked up 15k views, after that. I love him which is a freestyle to Big Tymers Number 1 Stunna beat which pulled in 20k views via Facebook.
I was invited to a podcast called Arrogant Assholes here in Orlando, FL at the end of the interview they asked me to rap a song for them I chose my personal favorite Duck Duck Goose. As soon as I started rapping, everyone took out their phones to record me, the next day, the clips had reached 50k views via Facebook which prompted me to shoot the Duck Goose video.
While shooting the video in March of 2019, someone took their phone out to record me during a performance scene, that clipped reached 3.3million views via Facebook without the song being on any platforms at all. From there, my life changed instantly, I was booked and busy.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been smooth there are smooth moments but the music industry is pretty rocky, I embrace my struggles to better myself.
Understanding that you have to keep going even when the people you thought would be there forever turn their back on you is the biggest struggle but knowing that God is always with me is what keeps me elevated.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am an artist most popularly known as “The Real Gabbana” for my hardcore sexy lyrics and my hit single which is my first song DUCK DUCK GOOSE. Before music, I completed cosmetology school specializing in hair extensions.
I also wrote a book called “competing with streets” pulling in 1 million reads before I removed it to work on the complete series. I’ve also recently stepped into acting as the main character in a web series “The Life of Diego Jones” this is my 3rd acting gig and I’m super excited to see where else my talents will take me.
What sets me apart from others is I’m not afraid to be myself being comfortable with who you are and always being transparent with my supporters is what helps maintain my momentum.
Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I was born and raised in West Orlando, Florida on Mercy Drive in Windsor Cove formally known as “The Palms Apts”. I lost my childhood friend Cedric “JOONK” Garrett in 2008 in a triple homicide which forced me to look at the neighborhood I loved and felt the safest indifferently.
I found more friends than enemies in my field, I’m always open to learning and networking outside of Orlando the world is much bigger than just Orlando.
