Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Brunson and Kali Arnold. Them and their team share their story with us below:
The Namaste Project was started by Danielle Brunson and Kali Arnold in 2019. Both Danielle and Kali had recently left their jobs to work in the mindfulness and wellness space and met at a yoga studio. Both ladies had reached their goals of obtaining high level and high paying roles in their fields and both were finding despite the “success’ they were unhappy, unhealthy, and looking for a change. Mindfulness, yoga, and meditation changed their lives.
They knew they wanted to do the same for others. Having such similar stories and desires they came together to form The Namaste Project. Since then, The Namaste Project has worked in schools and corporations around the country to provide mindfulness training to teachers, employees, and kids. As people return to in-person work, conferences, and events The Namaste Project also provides wellness spaces to allow breaks and time to be quiet, meditate, pause and recenter as we readjust to engaging with others more again.
The goal of The Namaste Project is to “Spread the Calm” and increase employee satisfaction while decreasing employee stress. The company has grown to over 15 mindfulness and meditation experts and delivers content in person, on Zoom, and via e-courses. Most recently TNP was able to provide a zen den in person at the Marriott Orlando World Center for local and traveling participants to have a space to relax during their workday.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest struggle for TNP has been scaling the desire to meet our staffing. During Covid, there was a light shined on mental health and an awareness that companies, schools, and organizations needed to provide more structured mental health support.
Request for our services increased and we worked hard in 2020 and 2021 to hire and offer services in multiple ways. While the growth was a challenge we were excited to see people recognizing that supporting their staff was critical.
We’ve seen such positive trends as pre and post-surveys showing employee satisfaction is up, retention is up, and companies and schools who use our services report healthier and happier staff.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Namaste Project, LLC?
“It can be difficult to know how to implement mindfulness and meditation in a way that isn’t stressful for adults and is going to have a real impact.
That is where The Namaste Project comes in.” Our society encourages a nonstop lifestyle that leaves little time to reset and restore. This can result in individuals feeling stressed, anxious, and distracted. The Namaste Project provides training for adults who want to live a happier more balanced life.
What sets TNP apart from other mindfulness programs? TNP was started and continues to be run by women of color. Mindfulness and meditation spaces that amplify BIPOC voices are so needed and TNP is intentional in hiring staff to represent the diverse populations it serves.
