Today we’d like to introduce you to Passion Williams.
Passion, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I graduated from Jones High School in Orlando Florida, I graduated with a BS degree in Healthcare Management from Florida A & M University. I then moved to Atlanta Georgia to further my career in healthcare however, an accounting opportunity was presented to me. After working 3.5 years as the director of finance for a construction company in Atlanta helping the company grow from $3.5 million to $7million to later be worth approximately $10 million to date, I realized my worth and valuable my skills were and decided I could also build my own empire. I started my entrepreneur journey with a trucking logistics company (D&P PREMIUM LOGISTICS) in 2020. I ventured off into owning fleet and operating under my own authority for RP Transport. Our goal is to not only service shippers and build relationships with brokers but to provide education and opportunities for high school graduates who are seeking an alternate career path aside from college, to give convicted felons a second chance at earning income sustainable for the rise in the cost of living and to give back to our community. Finally, I launched a cosmetic line PR Cosmetics Co. The inspiration for the business venture was my model career throughout college, being a freelance makeup artist and my love for makeup!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
After moving back to Orlando in 2018, my contract with the company I was working for ended. I had recently had my daughter and already had my son so finding a new job that fit my desired salary and availability within a month was difficult. I started from the bottom again and worked my way back up. During that short time, I worked two jobs to meet my previous job’s salary. I was burned out, tired, unmotivated and depressed. I cried in my car one day while at one of jobs and told myself I cannot settle for this and this is not and will not be the life that I will live. I received an opportunity for an Executive Office position with Wells Fargo bank. My entire life turned around. I became motivated again, I worked my way out of my depression stage, I prayed often for strength, peace and wisdom, and I looked to my kids every day to remind me why I could never give up.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
RP Transport is a freight transport company. We opened the company in 2021, my husband and I (Raoul Williams) with hopes to build a brand/company that will generate generational wealth for our children, create opportunities for trucking education, jobs and second chances for convicted felons.
How do you think about happiness?
My family (my husband and kids) make me happy & helping others. I have a passion for helping people.
