Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Laviena. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Chef Laviena is a native of the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She has an extensive culinary background and is a graduate of the “Escuela Hotelera” in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated as a Culinary Arts Specialist and received certifications in International Cuisine and Gourmet Hors d’Oeuvres. Her culinary career began in 2010 as a Chef Instructor in Orujo Gastronomy Workshop. Her culinary path has included employment with Exotic Taste Catering Inc., The Sheraton Convention Center in Puerto Rico, and The Westin in Lake Mary. In addition, Chef Laviena spent the past years creating All Modern Cuisine.
All Modern Cuisine is a catering company founded in 2019. Through Chef Angela Laviena, All Modern Cuisine offers Catering Services, Culinary Industry Consulting, and Gastronomy Workshops. Chef Laviena works her culinary magic developing recipes, creating menus, and managing the day-to-day operations of the central kitchen. She is passionate about ensuring that the best quality products are used and served. All Modern Cuisine proudly services the Central Florida region. In addition, their team designs customized events, including Catering, Cooking Classes, Demo kitchens, Tastings, Custom Menus, Meal Prep, Family Dinners, among many other services.
For the past 8 years, Chef Laviena has collaborated in various charities, missionary trips, and Non-Profit Organizations. These eye-opening experiences have deepened her desire to continue feeding those in need. She believes everyone should try to be part of one of these fantastic and meaningful experiences at least once in their lifetime.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Our business in Puerto Rico suffered thru the passing of Hurricane Maria. My husband and I decided that we should bring our business to the United States and start fresh. After 3 months of arriving in Florida, my husband suddenly passed away. I was left with the challenge of starting our business while adjusting to a new life in a new place and raising our daughters by myself.

I believe I have been blessed with a spiritual family that believed in me and helped me find myself when I had lost all hope.
