Today we’d like to introduce you to Islande Shepherd.
Hi Islande, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
It all started when I was in high school, my classmates would talk about how difficult it is to get a good nail tech. My big sister was a nail technician and I had watched her worked with her clients in then it dawned on me to start doing my neighbors and school mates manicures, & pedicures. I wasn’t sure what to expect but they did love the results. I worked towards improving my skills, went to a trade school and got certified as a nail technician. I wanted to do more than just offer my services to random people, and being a kids lover I started to defold my time to helping kids get their glam on. I’m always amazed by their smiles and confidence boost that they exuded after providing them with services for their birthdays or BFF glam day.
I created Star’s Glam Mobile Spa, in 2019 named after my beautiful daughter Amayah Star, who is one of my driving forces she work hard and to keep doing what I am doing. It is also a fun experience to have her involvement in the business learning to do manicures, pedicures, and to up nice the girls it makes me proud as a single mom that my daughter is learning skills and picking up values.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road wasn’t as soothing as I thought. It took me a lot of work and dedication to have Star’s Glam to where it is at now. One thing I learned was to never give up on your dreams. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. It took a lot of late nights and early mornings especially when I was working on the Star’s Glam Spa Factory activities for the kids. It was a lot of brain storming to create all the brilliant ideas for the spa packages and activities to add along with it. I wanted the business to not just allow the girls to get pampered but also so that they can learn how to be creative. Majority of our spa activities shows the kids how to create their own colors and making their own products.

Star’s Glam is a mobile spa that brings luxurious spa services right to your doorstep. We specialize in a variety of lavish party packages and VIP services for ages 4-16. All of our birthday packages are set to fit individual needs, at Star Glam we love to celebrate beauty inside and out and confidence in all of our little divas while creating everlasting memories. we make it more convenient for mom and dad to host spa parties from the comfort of their home without the stress of setting up and cleaning up after a party. We also provide entertainment for the kids while getting pampered It’s an entire celebration. We are dedicated to provide the best customers satisfaction.

Star’s Glam is committed to helping young girls feel beautiful and inspired.
As our way of giving back Star’s Glam aim to donate a part of its proceeds and services to kids who are battling cancer and hopes to make them smile again and to not give up. We also have an annual kid drive where we provide Christmas presents for boys and girls. We are committed to keeping our promises and looking forward to doing more as we grow.
How do you think about luck?
The role of luck is having faith in whatever you are working on. I am a true believer of God, prayer was the number one key for me to open doors. I allowed God, to guide me through the process and it worked.
