Daily Inspiration: Meet Mariana Gonzalez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariana Gonzalez.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
It all started when my niece was born, I took photos of her every day, for her monthly photos with my iPhone 6. My mom has always help me with ideas to create different scenarios for the photos. And my niece Luna is amazing the best model, it’s easy to practice photography with her.

My parents have always encouraged me to study more, so I started to do more photos to my niece, my cousins, my sister, I started to play with the angles, the light, to learn more about photography, to see videos on the internet.

Then I bought my first camera and since then I haven’t stopped. I didn’t know anything about cameras, or the settings so I started to go to the public library and read books about photography, I saw and still see videos, tutorials and just preparing myself to know everything about this art and do an amazing job.

I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life, what career to choose, so when I found out about photography and I discover that I felt good doing it and that I never get bored learning about it, that I can dedicate my days taking photos and editing I felt happy because now I know that I can make it a career and I can work doing something that I love.

My niece Luna has always been my muse and thanks to her I discovered my passion.

Now I’m a mom of a beautiful baby boy who inspires me to work on learning more and more, to be the best and to get the people to know me and know my work.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest struggle has been not having the equipment, I have a simple camera and a simple computer to edit, so because of that I have always feel insecure about daring to work with clients, but I decided to bet on me, I believed on me and my art, I believed on what I can do and the magic that I can create with the photos. And when I see the reaction of my family and people I didn’t know about my photos I feel more proud and secure of my work.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in product photography but also do kids and family, lifestyle photography.

My photos have always a magic style, they have a little bit of art, and that’s what makes them original and different.

I’m proud of my process and that my photos look clean and artistic.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
I love the parks the green areas, lots of choice to to do photoshoots with beautiful backgrounds.

What I least like is the weather but it doesn’t bother me that much.
