Today we’d like to introduce you to Indira Parra.
Hi Indira, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Venezuelan and graduated from the Santa María University in Venezuela from the law school. I arrived in the United States 7 years ago and, like all immigrants, I found myself not knowing what to do because I was leaving my career, my home, everything in Venezuela, all my past was left behind and I had to start from scratch.
In addition to having two children, one of my children has autism and it was a great challenge for me to start here and take care of him.
Thank God, I was fortunate to meet people along the way who led me to become an insurance agent for that career, it opened doors for many families, I have helped many people who arrive disoriented and I have managed to create my own company today, in addition to being an agent. In terms of insurance, I am a real estate agent and I also helped my clients buy a house. This gives me great satisfaction since I can help families to be protected and make their dreams come true.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of my biggest challenges was adapting to a totally different system than the one I came from and becoming a professional without neglecting my children and my family. The other great challenge is having achieved a fairly large clientele, maintaining it and giving everyone a good service in order to maintain myself at the level that I have achieved.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am an insurance agent and a real estate agent. I provide an advisory service for my clients on how to obtain health or life insurance and also help us buy their home.
What do you like and dislike about your business?
What do I like about my business? It’s that I can help many people sometimes Well, I’ve had to be a psychologist, a friend, give emotional support. But what I love the most is when I see those families of great faith how they achieve each of their goals. In addition to being part of a great work team with colleagues who feel so committed to their work that they transmit positive energy to everything we do. Our mission and goal is to train new insurance agents with work ethics and discipline.
What do I not like about my job? that there are times when there are clients who do not understand that I am a human being just like them and with the same needs to share with the family and rest.
