Today we’d like to introduce you to Theolodge.
Hi Theolodge, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, the journey for me started in the church choir and from there became my love. I would have contest with friends growing to see who could remember a song word for word and I would always come out on top. It went from lunchroom raps to college freestyling to performing on stage. I had a private session with Bad Boy but chose to graduate college and my mindset became if something is meant to be it’ll come back. I had an empathy while playing professional basketball that if I put the same effort in my music, I can make it as well. From there it became a challenge because I didn’t know where to start or which route to take. It was Showcases, open mics, mixtapes, and branding myself, which cost me a lot financially and created doubt. I went from friend’s couch and family cribs trying to get it together plus keep the FAITH. Turning point came in 2017 when I was in Cannes, France at international music conference Midem and met Wyclef. Once sharing the stage with one of your idols and leaving the conference with several music deal offers, I knew then everything I sacrificed for was coming full circle. To this day, I have music on National television, Netflix, and delta airlines plus I’ve accumulated over a Billion streams, signed some endorsement deals, and pushing my brand KREW globally (the K is backwards) stand for Work when looking in the mirror.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Obstacles is finding your way around a bunch of doubt. I realized everyone isn’t going to cheer for you to win or even support because they never had a dream. My struggles helped me build character and that’s to do what’s best for me considering I made all sacrifices to get this far
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Indie music artist and specialize on inspiring music to give Underdogs as myself belief and faith. I know betting the odds and making a dollar out of 15 cent basic making something out of nothing. Proud of myself for not giving up and trusting God’s timing. I believe what sets me apart is I’m not scared to be vulnerable and give people lyrics about my trials and tribulations on my journey plus my music is real life.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Appreciate all the NOs cause they will led you to the right YES! Yes, it gets dark but so does any other career, and fight for your dreams
