Check Out Kyra Caroline’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyra Caroline.

Hi Kyra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always loved fashion! I loved dressing up as a little girl, always playing in my mom’s closet and dreaming of the day that I could fit into her shoes. I specifically remember this pair of heels – they had a wood platform base and a green plastic strap over the top – and I tried them on daily, only for my foot to outgrow them by the time I was in 5th grade. I also loved looking at magazines and picking out clothes that I would love to wear someday. Unfortunately, my family never had the money to fund my love for fashion, so when I reached adulthood and could afford it on my own, I started building my closet. It felt so good to finally be able to express myself that I decided to share my outfits online!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a content creator is not always easy. Don’t get me wrong – I love doing it – but there is so much pressure in the game. I have definitely struggled with trying to keep up with trends, even if they didn’t fit in my own personal style. I also think it can be hard to post consistently because sometimes life gets hectic! I always feel a little bit guilty when I take social media breaks, but I’m slowly learning to set boundaries and know that it is okay to take time off.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a fashion content creator! I am known for my neutral street style, but as spring and summer are approaching, I’m starting to add more color into my wardrobe.

I am a huge thrifter, and I love putting together outfits with secondhand pieces. As a small creator, posting different outfits almost daily can be taxing on my wallet, but this helps me to save money while also saving the earth!

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I think people always assume that content creators have always had a lot of money and parents that buy them clothes and contribute to their fashion senses from an early age. I actually didn’t grow up with much, and almost never got brand new clothes. I wore a lot of hand-me-downs from my sister and family friends and shopped at secondhand stores when it came time to buy school clothes. I honestly never minded this and didn’t think about it much then, but now that I’m older, I really do appreciate the ability to buy nicer pieces that truly fit my sense of style.
