Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Childers.
Hi Taylor, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I went to Disney World when I was about 9 years old for the first time. We stayed at the Fort Wilderness Cabins on property and I was obsessed. From the theming of the resort to the fun in the parks. I was ALL about it. Through sports, I was able to travel to Disney a couple more times before graduating. Each time was different, but the magic was always there. So, when I became a mother, I couldn’t wait to take my children. I planned and researched so much for their first trip. After we returned, I just kept researching! I planned a few more of our own trips and then started helping my friends plan their trips. I had so much fun with it! So, I turned that fun into a business venture! Now, I get to have the fun of planning, researching, and helping my clients have a magical time- just as a I had that made me fall in love with Disney.
Orlando has all the things I love to do located in the same area. My first book I fell in love with was Harry Potter. I have read the series endless times. It is a HUGE part of my life. So, planning trips for my fellow Harry Potter fans at Universal Studios is another great joy of mine.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Are there ever “smooth roads”? Never. Nothing worth doing is ever easy. I have spent lots of sleepless nights finishing up itineraries and hours on the phone with customer service. I have taken time out of my own vacations to do research or help a client do something during their trip. I spend most of my evenings sitting with my computer instead of relaxing after my day job. I am an elementary teacher, so that adds an extra element of struggles. I absolutely love being a teacher. So, multitasking being a teacher, mother, wife, coach, and Pixie Planner is very challenging.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As I said, I “wear many hats”. I think that is actually what sets me apart though! I have lots of experience with children and know what things kids are going to love and what is going to be challenging from the parents’ perspective. I am a reader and love learning. I know details about things you will see that I can give you insight on. As a teacher, I can give you tips on how to point out some education features along the way. My busy life actually has given me the opportunity to learn more about my trade!
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Is luck real? Maybe… but I think it is more about hard work, a positive attitude and not giving up. I look to God often for strength and to help me have a positive attitude.
