Conversations with Gerard Peralta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gerard Peralta.

Hi Gerard, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I don’t know what to say, I guess everything started when my father met my mother and then they had me (Chuckles) or when I was 6 years old, diagnosed with ADHD so my parents signed me up for piano lessons to keep me busy and out of the house, maybe everything started when I was admitted in the Conservatory of Mexico City to become a concert pianist in 2009, or perhaps when in 2014 I moved to the US for the first time, for a whole summer! to attend the Rebecca Penney’s piano festival at USF. But long story short I moved to Florida for good in 2018, start working, settle down, and moved to the suburbs in beautiful Orlando.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Pretty smooth actually, I’m not gonna lie there’s always obstacles and struggles but they just make the journey more interesting, I don’t think it is about how many obstacles you encounter as much as it is how many lessons can you learn from them and just try not to make the same mistakes in the future, sometimes you win sometimes you learn, I try to focus on the good moments, the smooth parts of the road not just on the bumps and struggles, focusing in the present is what keeps me motivated and happy, past struggles are in the past and we can’t change them, I can tell you right now that I don’t regret any of the things I’ve done in the past I regret the things I didn’t do like not buying Bitcoin in 2017! (chuckles) joke aside only actions in the present can shape the future.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What do I do? That’s a good question and I get that a lot actually, there’s a simple answer for that. I’m a pianist who plays for fun during the week, for church on Sundays, and for myself at night. I’m well known in my community for my optimism, charisma, good heart, and for being the life and soul of the party!

Any big plans?
There’s some traveling that I’d like to do post-pandemic, probably now that everything seems to be getting more “normal” and before there’s another wave or variant out there! Talk to my parents more often, visit them, stop using those dating apps, delete TikTok, learn to code, learn SQL, I recently order a 3D printer and I need to learn how to use it, learn to mine and stake some altcoins, plant more trees in my backyard, put out more bird feeders, build a koi pond, and use less social media
