Today we’d like to introduce you to Diego Villalba.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started working at a very young age, I come from a middle-class family in Quito-Ecuador. My father died when I was just 14 years old, during that time I dedicated my effort to continue studying and working at the same time. I completed my studies in computer management and later completed two master’s degrees in Administration, finance, and insurance. I was always linked to the corporate area several times as a project manager, which was an exceptional business career.
After many years of sacrifice and recognition at the private corporate level becoming manager and director of several departments and corporate director. Due to a very complicated political stage in Ecuador, I decided to set up my own company growing in sales relationships and customer service at the private corporate level.
Unfortunately, in my country, the corruption of the government reached incredible level was then when we decided with my family to emigrate to the United States, based on a proposal to work with a friend of mine at a business, long story short the business never happened.
So, as I progressed here in early 2010, I decided to invest in something that could exploit all my knowledge and communication talent coupled with finance and customer service. As well as being a project manager for Metro by T-Mobile, work that I still maintain in the mornings.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I passed my real estate agent exam at the first attempt based on the recommendation and help of a good friend of mine who was a realtor, who was also my mentor. I had the chance to work for Belmont Realty a small local broker in Winter Park for a couple years and then beginning of this year I decided to join Deconova International Group based in Miami, Florida. A broker with a full portfolio of products in the area of turn-key service vacation homes which here in Orlando, a very big portion of the Florida economy, giving my clients a complete set of options. Which has been transferred into success, since I was able to get ahead with two perfectly coordinated jobs with an average of 80 hours a week, very strong but very happy to have been involved in a business as noble and profitable as real estate. It is a very stressful job, but at the same time very planned where my area of expertise is, and at the same time having a skill with numbers makes it very easy for me to help my clients and friends to make the best decision when is time to buy, sell, or invest, oriented to local and international market.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m currently serving as Realtor in all Central Florida residential and investments also referring the Vocational Programs for locals and foreign preparing a digital campaign to extend the real estate business to countries like Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, etc. Market that can support the portfolio of businesses we offer given that we are in the strongest city for the vacation homes business as an investment model” Enjoy When You Come, Rent It When You Leave”
