Heleyna, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Flawfully Glamorous was born April of 2018. All I had was a passion for self-expression through all things beauty and that’s what fueled my business.
It all began with hair coloring. Which was my most popular service. I mastered unique color placement with vibrant and bold colors. I’ve gained amazing Wig Baes (clients), I’ve created a bright colorful portfolio of rainbow wigs, and helped so many women feel beautiful. I also had the pleasure of creating Kat Von D’s signature blunt bob with bangs, that featured in her music video ‘Enough’.
Although I am still offering custom wig services, wig rejuvenation, and wig revamps. I am also teaching women how to properly care for their wigs through my eBook series titled Flawfully Glamorous WIGGY CARE SERIES.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I have had many hiccups. Terrible vendors, nightmare clients, a pandemic, failed projects, and unwarranted chargebacks. The list could go on, BUT the most important thing is that I learned from those mistakes and NEVER gave up.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional wig maker and specialize in custom color placement. The most popular service I have is rainbow hair color.
My proudest moment would have to be making a wig for Kat Von D and seeing it live in action in her music video ‘Enough’. I legit almost shed a tear watching my name appear in the credits.
I feel like what sets me apart from others in this over-saturated industry is ME. No one can be me; I am my only competition. Another thing that sets me apart from others is my attention to detail, my hair color HAS to be the right shade my Wig Bae envisioned. I’ve also gotten amazing reviews for how I connect and serve my Wig Baes.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
A huge supporter is my fiancé Nick (My Nickie) He has helped motivate me in so many ways. I appreciate him being my mannequin head before I could afford one with shoulders. I appreciate him investing in any dream of mine without hesitation. I love him so much.
I have to acknowledge my OG Wig Bae Alexandra aka @AlexMetalClown. She was the first Influencer to let me create a wiggy for her. She has supported soooo many times, getting wig after wig after wig. She’s also helped me out behind the scenes with a HUGE opportunity. She’s honestly the perfect client, if I could have like 12 Alexandra’s I would lol.
I would also like to thank every single wig bae I created a wiggy for before I had my business, and before my business gained any clientele. Those ladies really gave great feedback, helped motivate me to perfect my craft, and allowed me practice on them.
I have to shout out my big sister Ramona. She met me after my business but she without hesitation designated me her wig guru, she supports genuinely and always sends potential clients my way. I love you, sis!
