Today we’d like to introduce you to Cortney Shallow.
Hi Cortney, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I guess looking back it feels I’ve been on this spiritual journey my whole life…I just took some “time off”, lived the life of a normal kid, and then started to remember my out-of-body experiences as a young child when I was a freshman in college. Before the age of 7, I had memories of astral traveling. Even at a young age, I knew I was energy/soul/spirit outside of a physical body, but also knew and experienced being consciously aware while traveling amongst the stars. This can seem far-fetched for some people to wrap their heads around, but I know what I experienced was very real. After having some experiences in college and getting in touch with what the bigger question and purpose to life was, lol…I went through the rabbit hole of self-help books, different spiritual books, and reading about other people’s experiences.
After undergrad, I carried on with waiting tables and bartending. I didn’t want to jump into a job just because it was the social standard of the next best thing to do. I was living a good and happy life with the flexibility to travel and gain life experiences. I later went back to school in NYC at the age of 27 and became a holistic health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. I quickly became aware of how connected our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies are. They all work together for proper health and well-being :). After IIN I went on to study and take weekend classes in Asheville, N.C. for the Healing Touch modality. Completed level 4 and was practicing a lot on people and really honing in on the subtle energies running through each individual’s body. I feel this modality was an integral part to what I do now and the messages I receive.
I grew up in the Burlington, N.C. Moved to the coast for college at UNCW, and just stayed living the beach life in Wilmington until the age of 30. At this point, my husband had decided to go back to school and got accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic, here in Port Orange, Fl where we currently live. In the same week of his acceptance, we found out I was pregnant, so fast forward 7 months later we are all moved and a whole another life is about to bloom. I was extremely lucky to be able to stay at home with our daughter, but life was lonely and I knew no one. I know it can feel lonely to be a first-time mother anyway and I missed my family and adult interactions. I was still soul searching and trying to figure out my next “move” on feeling the need and desire to do MORE. Right after my daughter was born in 2011, I came across the work and method of Dolores Cannon. She is the founder of QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique) and I couldn’t get enough of her information. Everything she spoke about resonated.
With my husband in school and me being home, we didn’t have funds for her class, but I did find a local lady who was willing to put on a weekend class all about Past life regression. I learned a lot, but I was also left with a lot of questions. Worked on several people, but just felt there’s still something missing and I consider this work to be VERY sacred when working with someone’s soul and helping them piece their unique puzzle together✨. A few years later in 2019 I was finally able to take QHHT level 1 online and was beyond excited, as it was still videos of Dolores teaching her classes. I completed the intern level of working with 25 different people and then moved on to level 2 training in Miami just before the shutdown in February of 2020.
Of course, everyone’s worlds turned upside down at this point, kids were home, and I couldn’t see people for sessions in person. During this time, I then signed up to take an Akashic Records Reading course through zoom and practicing with people from around the world knowing nothing of their background, and going into zoom rooms to practice “reading” them, whew…no pressure, lol. I knew I had tapped into my own records before through my own QHHT sessions and was told through my Higher Self I could do the same for others…so here we go, why not?! The class was eye-opening… I learned a lot about myself, as well as, learning to surrender and trust the information coming through. It’s been and will continue to be an ever-evolving process of opening my abilities to what’s not seen with the visible eye, but it’s just as relevant and powerful on a soul level to help convey these messages to others. I call on and work with their Higher Self, or from the help of their Masters, Teachers, and Loved Ones. I am beyond humbled through each individual’s experience and feel like I am on the sidelines at times as me, Cortney, haha…so again it brings me back to the out of body experiences I use to have as a child through both QHHT and reading the Akashic Records for others. I have to say too, that the records are changing, we aren’t necessarily going backwards to past lives so much, we are working more with the present, and what your future potentials can look like. We can also work with the energetic body and physically move stagnant energy…sometimes they come through with specific instructions for what that individual may need to eliminate or incorporate. It’s really been a fun journey, there’s no cookie-cutter way. To me it’s all about trusting the process, working with the highest vibration of light for the highest good for all, surrendering into the unknown, and having no attachments to the outcome.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
For the most part yes, but of course, there’s life that has taken place in the process. Staying home with 2 kids, working between their schedules and my husband’s… and really seeing people from my home to my husband’s office, to going to clients’ homes where they are most comfortable. I have steadily gotten busier in both QHHT and Akashic record readings and basically all through word of mouth with my husband’s help of course too, and the patients he works with. QHHT sessions are a bit longer, 4-6 hours and in person, while Akashic record readings are a bit more flexible working from home on zoom and usually take about an hour.
My abilities didn’t happen overnight, and nor did my business just fill up with clients. I have expanded in my abilities exponentially over the past couple of years, and my business has steadily grown into more full-time while kids are in school than part-time. For that, I am grateful. 🙂
We’ve been impressed with Begin Within & Metaphysical Momma on YouTube, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a QHHT (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Practitioner) & an Akashic Record Reader. I see clients in person and via zoom for the Akashic Readings. I help people move stuck/stagnant energy, remove blocks, release energetic chords, bring forth information from their spiritual teams, and help guide to bring a soul connection back to the physical realm of this thing called life. I occasionally post videos on YouTube about my sessions, without mentioning names, but just the common theme at times on what’s coming up in sessions.
I also just helped co-host an all-women’s retreat in Daytona beach this past April and we were blown away with the outcome and the healing that took place!!! It was absolutely fun, magical, and empowering to witness shifts in our guest from the first day to the last day. I have 2 other women’s retreats coming this fall in October and November. Still working out the details, but will be placing that on my website as it’s done.

Any and all of Dolores Cannons books or the information she has out on YouTube. I love Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work as well. Soulology on YouTube I admire his interview process and the people he has on that share their work and perspectives.
