Today we’d like to introduce you to Aych.
Hi Aych, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I’m from Wilmington, Delaware currently resides in Tampa Florida. I started as a musician who threw parties and showcases to starting my open mic “Da Cypher” in 2006. While touring and traveling with music I became inspired to start a music festival called “Loud On 7th” in 2019. Partnering with local radio personality “Buckwheat” made the inspiration into reality. So here we are today, a 16-year-old open mic, a 15+ event in 4 days music festival every September, and more to come. We are living our dream.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There are many ups and downs, especially during the pandemic but that’s what separates the heard. Resilience and patience will always take you far.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Longevity is what sets me apart from others. Adaptability and my ability to adapt is what keeps me able to reach new generations of artists. Creativity and inspiration is what keeps the festival fun and educational.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There are so many who help in ways they don’t know, it’s incredible. Inspiration does so much for me and the smallest acts or words can carry me for years. I definitely give thanks to the city of Tampa for embarrassing me.
