Hi Tahric, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Born in the poverty-stricken city of Gary, IN I later moved to Indianapolis, IN as a single mother 1 searched for a better environment to raise her son. I later graduated high school and sought to sail to Bethune-Cookman University to study Finance. At an early age, I understood the importance of being financially literate. So, I was determined to really understand how money worked and how to make money work for me. Also at an early age, I’ve always been an entrepreneur from reselling shoes, to selling cars and car parts at my grandparents’ used car lot. After 4 years of college, I graduated with the question everyone faces “What’s Next?” As I applied to more jobs than I can count my entrepreneurial spirit was always speaking to me. The turning point was when my car engine went out and I couldn’t get a new vehicle because my credit wasn’t efficient enough. Which left me distraught so I went on a path to understand how credit impacted my life and my overall financial picture. As I researched for countless hours, I found the information to repair my own personal credit. So, I did, I went from a 550 to a 750 within 8 months. So, once I repaired my own, I helped the ones closest to me first. From there I ran into a variation of credit which is called business credit. This allows you to get funding from lenders better known as banks, at 0% APR for 6-20 months and invest that money into whatever business venture you saw profitable. The best news about this is that the money that the banks lend you, does not report under your personal credit, instead, it reports to your business. From this concept, I started two businesses. Danzy Wealth Enterprise “DWE” was founded in 2021 it is a Business Consulting firm that specializes in helping our small business owners with Business Credit Funding, Credit Repair, and implying systems that will help the overall day-to-day operations of their company. The second company is Oceano Transports founded in 2020. Oceano transports specializes in the Hospitality/Transportation market with Turo and expanding into Short-term rentals as well. To this date, DWE has removed over $60,000 worth of debt from our client’s credit report and has funded more than $250,000 in personal and business funding for our clients. Oceano Transports has reached “All-Star” host status on Turo and we are expanding to 5 units for Short-term Rentals over the span of the next 9 months. I’ve always lived with the theory that information changes situations when that information is implied. For the next entrepreneur looking for inspiration to take that next leap into living the life they desire. Remember that when motivation is lacking consistency will propel you and luck is when preparation meets opportunity. Stay prepared, stay humble, and stay hungry.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’ve always seemed to face adversity in my life. Growing up in areas with high property and high crime the odds have always been stuck against me. I used the same principles I used growing up within business. Staying consistent and organized were the 2 of the most important practices that helped overcome many challenges I’ve faced. I have a strong faith in God as well as myself. I believe that no situation is too great and no hard time lasts forever.

We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Something I’ve learned during this pandemic is that information is gold and to always have a thirst for knowledge. I would also say your net worth is associated to your network. So really making meaningful connections with the right individuals can take you a long way.
