Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Lane.
Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I worked for a Colombian coffee company and my role was to work with coffee roasters from all over the globe. I would travel to their shops and show them why our coffee was some of the best they would roast. I had the opportunity to go to our farm to meet the farmers and to understand what makes the best cup of coffee. Because of Covid, I was laid off. So, after a few months of consulting with other coffee companies, I went to my wife and said we can do this Ourselves and she didn’t say know. So, I put a plan together and I was able to find a few partners that knew what I wanted to do and believed in me.
So here we are a year in a half later we have the first and only Coffee Roastery in Winter Haven, FL and Voted the Best Coffee shop as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The hardest part was findings partners. I knew maybe 10-20 people who I thought would invest in what I wanted to do and at the time none of them had the money. But talking with 2 local men they knew what I wanted to do and could see my vision. The scary thing was it was the last two people I spoke to.
